[It's too bad that things have been So Srs since Guy arrived in the RP. Because the truth is he's been itching to do this for a while, but simply put! Everything was just too dangerous to allow him proper time to geek out

[And at your lovely display of technogeekery, we have one (1) red-eyed purple-haired young lady, just... well, staring. At the carnage. Good lord we've killed people in cleaner ways than this.]
[A-and she can tell. Oooh boy. Well, at least she's a good student, so...] If you wouldn't mind telling me about it, I think I would like that... I will try to understand to the best of my ability.
Fonic technology, or just 'fontech', is based around using fonons for a power source. Fonons are particles of sound present in everything in our world. Generally there are six elements of fonons: light, wind, water, earth, fire and darkness. By combining these fonons with memory particles from the core of our planet, you can create a lot of energy.
... That sounds a little similar to nuclear fusion... Ah, are there any drawbacks to using these "fonons"? And do you ever have any trouble with the output...?
[ooc; fffff IGNORE THAT LAST POST mun hasn't been in science class forever and got the friggin fraggin terms mixed up. ;_; -crawls in a hole-]
In a way, yes. The vibrations created in the core by doing all this was also releasing a poisonous gas. We've stopped that, so the miasma is gone. But in a few years the fonons in the atmosphere and the crystals we use for power will run out, and before that happens we'll need to be ready with alternative power.
Mm, then in that case they're also similar to what we call "fossil fuels"... Though, you mean now they no longer give off the poisonous gas when you use them?...
I'm familiar with fossil fuels, but I've never heard of 'nuclear'.
And it was never the fonons that were giving off the miasma. What happened was a process of creating powerful fonons by filtering memory particles from the planet's core through the fon belt.
[pauses, trying to think of how to explain this]
The memory particles are in the center of the planet, while the fon belt is a thick band of crystalized fonons that circles our planet. In order to get the memory particles up to the fon belt, the Planet Storm was created. The planet storm would send a constant stream of memory particles up to the fon belt, were they would fuse with fonons creating the power we use. But the friction of the Planet Storm was causing vibrations in the core, liquifying it, which also released the miasma over the entire planet.
...that was pretty long, but did it make any sense?
Oh... um, I don't know a lot about it, but... Do you know anything about atoms?...
[Nods slowly.] I think so... You were saying that the Planet Storm was the cause of the miasma... Does that mean it was man-made? Because when I think of "storm"...
Of course, atoms, along with fonons, make up everything in our world.
Oh, no, the Planet Storm is man made. Though a long, long time ago. It's an ancient technology used to distribute fonons all over the planet. You could think of it sort of like... a constant current of wind, that circles the entire planet, only instead of just circling the planet, it also goes through the core. And instead of being wind, it's memory particles and fonons.
[smiles]
Why don't you tell me your name? I should at least know that much if I'm going to bore you with all of these details.
Mm, then... If I remember correctly, there are two forms of nuclear power... There is nuclear fission, which is splitting the center, or nucleus, of an atom... and nuclear fusion, which is fusing two of them together. We have only been able to use nuclear fission to generate power so far, though... Fusion is harder to control, I think. It has been a while, so I may have gotten something wrong...
... Then was the poisonous gas a problem for a long time? Or did it only become one recently...?
Ah, it's not boring at all, just a little foreign... So please, don't worry about it. My name is Fujino Asagami. [Lowers her head in a polite bow.] Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you too, Fujino. You can call me Guy.
[nods nods, thinking about this]
To be honest, I've never heard of, or even thought of splitting an atom. And if I had, I would have assumed it was impossible. They're supposed to be the smallest part of matter, after all. Is that what your world uses for power?
As for the miasma... well. It probably wasn't a problem for a long time. The Planet Storm was created two thousand years ago, and was never meant to make the core vibrate. But we think that over that much time, irregularities occurred, just little things that upset it enough to make it not work perfectly. After all, it might be a machine the size of a planet, but cogs always wear down over time, and don't work quite as well.
[makes a face, like maybe his ancestors should have considered that]The miasma began a long time, during the Dawn Age. The war then was so great it released shook up the core and released the miasma all over the land. It would have eventually poisoned everyone. So a woman named Yulia Jue used the Score
( ... )
... In some places. Nuclear fission has its drawbacks... The leftovers are hazardous to the health of living creatures and are difficult to dispose of properly, and if something goes wrong in the power plant itself... [Trails off a little; obviously nothing good happens if that comes to pass.]
Ah... Yes, I was thinking it might have been because of its age...
[... She's just... bewildered at this. It's... well. Amazing. And it's hard to reply to.] ... But it eventually caught up, did it not? And forced you to try and do something about it...
You're pretty good at this aren't you? That's right, it all caught up, both because of simple wear and tear, and because of sabotogue. In the end, we had to go as far as to lower the land back down to the core, and stop the Planet Storm do no more miasma would be created.
Fonic?...

Of course I don't mind!
