not a great start
Missed quite a few days this week, but have a couple separate thoughts this evening to catalogue, so maybe it will balance out.
Went to a friend's wedding BBQ... very nontraditional, just generally a get together at a park. Happy for both of them but between this experience and another friends very nontraditional wedding late last year, I think the wedding as a major event may be slowly disappearing.
My wife and I had two weddings and both were amazing... I would do it again given the opportunity (and money), but I also think that the event itself carries with it a lot of weight and gravity that isn't always productive. For whenever my daughter is ready to take that step I hope she has whatever she and her partner want, but it does seem like the grand wedding is an inevitable casualty of balancing the gender equity scales.
