We put up our Christmas tree yesterday, and the cats have already decided to camp out underneath.
This reminded me of a Christmas when Kassi was about six years old. We were living in a tiny apartment that had a living room/dining room space that probably under two hundred square feet total so I was looking for a tree that was around thirty or forty inches in diameter. As we were looking at the trees on the lot, Kassi decided that one particular tree was the one that we were destined to have. It was huge, the fattest tree on the lot, but Kassi was sure this was the one that we needed. So, we took it home. After we put on lights and decorated it we realized that it was so big, the amount of decorations we had looked sparse, so we made gingerbread men and women and decorated them wearing crazy outfits and hung them on the tree. That night, we put sleeping bags on the floor and fell asleep amid the aroma of gingerbread and pine.
