I went to L.A. a week ago (I got out before the earthquake and the fires started). It was for a conference about Science and Technology centers. There were some pretty good session, good networking opportunities. There were also a few famous faces at the conference, a keynote speech by the Mythbusters and a workshop led by Ray Bradbury (Fahrenheit 451) (who was very inspirational for being a tad senile).
Star Wars opened at the museum a few weeks ago. It's been a mad-house, with the exhibit selling out on the weekends before it even opens. George Lucas came for the opening, but alas, I did not get to meet him.
Autumn is FINALLY here. I've been wearing sweaters, and I got to pull out a couple scarves. It's wonderful. The lake has been absolutely gorgeous on the drive home.
This is the weekend for Halloween parties. I can't believe everything that goes on in Chicago! We still haven't decided what we're doing... but it's going to be fun. On Thursday we went to a bar that was having a pumpkin carving party. They provide everything you need to carve, you just leave your pumpkin there to decorate the bar. It was very fun. The best part was probably the color photo booth, which we took our pumpkin into had took some very fun pictures. I love photobooths... and I found two bars in the near by vicinity that have them. I think I want to own one when I grow up.
First... the Meeka.
She has a foot fetish.
And we found a place where she'll actually sleep in her couch (underneath the computer desk).
