ahhhhhhhhhhhh astronomy camp starts in a couple of hours! i'm scared! i don't know if i'm ready! lord knows i prepared... but i don't feel like it. i hope the kids like astronomy. i hope the kids like me and all of my lesson plans/projects. it's suppose to rain ALL WEEK. man i hope it doesn't. the kids need to go outside for their rocket

All kids love astronomy and rocket launching. It's an inchoate quality that all kids possess.

oh, not george. george is ruining my camp. i don't know what to do with him... dislikes astronomy, challenges my authority at all times, short temper, inappropriate comments. *SIGH*

this is why i didn't become a teacher. i don't do discipline. i teach, i love, i inspire passion... i don't call kid's parents to tell them that their child is out of control.

You should go to the Great Lakes Star Gaze from Sept 22 to the 24th. Forget the kids for awhile and just enjoy the stars and hundreds of geek astronomers. I don't mind showing people the stars but after a few hundred questions I'm ready to sit quite and do science.

so how has it been going? i hope it didn't rain all week... launching rockets strikes me as one of the many highlights of the experience.

well, astronomy camp didn't go so well. the kids were crazy. hightlites being an egg being thrown at the building during "egg drop" and pulling of a fire alarm and a majorly adhd child who took one counselor sitting next to him at all times to keep him out of trouble.

physics camp went a little better. the kids had a great time, although they were horrible listeners and direction readers. i basically built all their projects for them.

rocket launching was fun. :)
