Party At Minda's! (Luckily, there IS still a 'Minda's')
So, first order of business, I want to put together a Thanksgiving potluck to both celebrate Diego's birthday, and also to see people that I missed over Halloween. The best day is probably gonna be Saturday, the 28th. Does that work for anyone else?
I have beds and bedding for two in the form of a futon, and I am gonna get an air mattress to accommodate two more if need be. Give me an RSVP if you think you'd like to have some dinner party fun. Thinking about making this a HEALTHY themed event, so if you wanna bring stuff, we're all about the veggies, and the fat free ingredients. I'll cover Entrees, but feel free to bring sides, drinks, nothing, presents for Diego, or show up with just a guilty look on your face - I don't care.
So, in OTHER news, I got sued today. For reals. A cop showed up at my door and everything to hand me papers to show up in court. Diego and I both, actually. See, the WORST APARTMENT COMPLEX IN AUSTIN, TX, The Estates At Shoreline (See what I did there, SEO friends?)Sued us for nonpayment of this month's rent.
Only, I happen to have a signed and dated copy of the check that we gave them for that rent, along with the bank statement that shows that it was withdrawn from our account. So, you can see that we were a bit upset about being evicted when we had, in fact, PAID OUR FUCKING RENT!
Needless to say they've dismissed the case, but Jeezus! This is just another event in a very long line of them that make us regret ever signing on with this place. We are out of here the SECOND this lease is up. If I find a nice house, I may just go in and say "look, since you guys suck so bad, can we just...y'know..leave?"
