Summer Heat Challenge 2009
The bedraggled traveler raised a hand to shield his eyes from the setting desert sun. The cliffs to the south culminated in a small mountain, where the dark half-circle of a cave promised shelter.
Dropping his heavy pack to the ground just inside the cave’s entrance, he squinted into the darkness. He couldn’t see the end of the cave, but he could make out a faint blue light. Suddenly a blast of icy air froze his sweaty clothes to his body.
Screaming, he scrambled down the mountainside in the shadow of the ice dragon which came charging from the cave.
