Ok, I know I haven't spent much time here of late
so I will explain briefly my utter joy!
FIG is a program I took part in my Freshman year,
it stands for Freshmen Interest Groups.
It's basically where they shove anyone with an
undeclared major at the time
so that you can explore a variety of courses
in a certain area of academics.
Mine was "Science, Letters and Humanities."
Easy enough, and quite enjoyable.
The only catch was that you had to take a
once-weekly colloquium course that was basically
an introduction to campus life. These were taught by seniors.
Because my GPA is decent enough, (I believe), last Fall semester
it was recommended I become a FIG Leader in my Senior year.
As in, teach my own course of incoming Freshmen.
Great idea, but I procrastinated and never got my application in on time.
So now I've got the chance to try all over again, and this time,
I got the interview!
If all goes well, I will be on my way to manipulating gently molding
the young minds of our university.
I am so ecstatic. It will require I stay on an extra semester,
but it will put me one step closer to teaching English abroad.
Oh joy!
