Four Walls and a Roof
My name has been signed roughly a thousand times, there is reams of paperwork making sure I will pay off my Giant Debt, and at last... the house is mine.
I want to name it, like one of those old sprawling Southern estates... only this one is a smallish ranch in New England. Suggestions welcome. :)
I've not moved in yet. My apartment lease isn't up for another month but I'm hoping to be moved in another couple of weeks. I need to make those arrangements tomorrow. I also need to start packing. I loathe packing. But I have a load ready to go over on my way to work tonight, so that's something.
I have Grand Decorating Plans. Or, plans, I don't know how grand they are. But I think I have a couch picked out, and maybe a table. I need a washer/dryer, too. I need stuff in there, so it feels like home. But right now? I've been haunting the Home Depot and made exciting purchases like a garden house and a shop vac. I think I don't yet know the sheer amount of *stuff* a house needs. I suppose I'm going to find out!
I'm also tired. Mentally. I haven't taken any time off during the buying/move, I have a whirlwind trip home somewhere in the middle to see my brother graduate, and I just... need peace and quiet and sleep. I'm not sure when that's going to happen. The only thing keeping me from pulling my hair out is that the house is an exciting thing.
I have tons of pictures, not all of them of the best quality, but when I get a little time I'll see about putting some up, if anyone is interested!
(I also need more/new icons! Maybe that's what I'll do at work tonight. :p)
