Released in Hana to Yume issue 21, 2009. Will be in volume 2.
The cover page features students talking about the upcoming broadcast that the 4 dropouts are doing. They're all looking forward to their next one.
Meanwhile, Mitchi tells the others that, no matter what, they must not wreck Ume's good mood at least until their broadcast is finished. Shou asks why, Tsukino exclaims that she doesn't want to do this with her, and Hime full-heartedly agrees to do what Mitchi says. Mitchi asks Tsukino and Shou if they're absolute idiots, but Tsukino points out that Mitchi gets diarrhea during actual performances, so he's sure one to talk.
Mitchi: "Ume-chan decided that she would make an original video for our next broadcast!! If Ume-chan's mood is ruined and she doesn't make the video then we'll be in trouble. We want it to be very successful like our last broadcast, right?"
They all picture the students clapping and congratulating them on a job well done.
All: "Of course we do."
Tsukino murmurs to herself that she'll do this for Hime but if Ume even slightly hurts Hime then...well...she cuts off her murmuring there. As for Shou, he's the biggest key to success since it turns out that Ume is, apparently, in love with him.
Ume suddenly sneaks up on Shou and hugs him from behind, complaining that he's too tall for their eyes to meet, causing Shou's body to stiffen from the surprise. Mitchi laughs and says that they'll definitely succeed if Shou hangs in there.
Shou slowly turns his head to see Ume staring up at him in a longing way. He blushes and hits her, causing her to spin out of control to the ground. Everyone is freaking out, of course. He's probably ruined her good mood already!
However, she chuckles and excuses him because he's just so shy that he can't help it. She goes into another fangirl attack explaining that the kind of boy who is rough, but suddenly becomes awkward and says something sweet is her ideal kind of prince. Shou is at a complete loss of what to say to her now.
Ume gets out a script and cheerfully tells them that she already has the storyboard for the video drawn out. They're all excited to see it, but when they see what it is, they're speechless. Basically, it about a violent boy named Shou who one day meets a girl named Plum (Ume's name means 'plum') and starts his life fresh. However, some of Shou's evil friends kidnap Plum and Shou fights to get her back.
Mitchi says that this character "Shou" is obviously Shou himself and freaks out. Hime, however, is extremely excited that this story has a heroine and desperately hopes that she gets the part of Plum. She's put down when Ume announces the cast: Shou as Shou, Mitchi as Plum, Tsukino as Evil Friend A, and Hime as Evil Friend B. Mitchi asks why he has to be the heroine when he's a guy, and she screams that a girl must not play Shou's partner.
She threatens to quit on them if they don't like her arrangements. They salute her and agree to do it her way.
Mitchi explains to Shou that he'll need to say sweet nothings to Ume to keep her spirits high at all times. Shou agrees to do this for them, his friends, but he has no idea how to talk to girls, let alone sweet nothings to girls.
So they find a way around that. They tried to get him to memorize lines in front of Tsukino, but they ended up using Hime and Shou's own special method of lip-syncing, Hime mouths something sweet and Shou says it out loud to Ume. Hime is actually amazed and laughs when he actually says, "The way you are when your doing your best is beautiful." Shou just blushes in embarrassment. Mitchi is left to wonder how he's able to do that...
Later on, they witness Ume working on the video with very, very high spirits while they're still having trouble getting Shou in character. It turns out that he's lost his motivation, but apparently listening to a CD of his idol to get it back. Mitchi states that he's heard that eversince he was little, Shou has been unable to speak with girls at all. Hime, of course, is confused since he seems to have not problem speaking around her.
When the script is ready, they begin rehearsal right away. However, Ume holds no bars back in pointing out their faults.
Ume: "Do you guys want to perform? What's with those stiff performances? Read the script! What are you learning in the seiyuu department?"
Dropout's thoughts: [Ume-chan is being very strict with us. Why the discrimination?]
When Shou begins his line, he's cut off by Ume's fangirling. She cheerfully tell him to do his best. This troubles Shou and irritates him. He glares at her and asks why she isn't being as mean to him as she is to the others. Ume jumps in fear. Before Shou says anything else, Mitchi shuts him up and Hime gabs "Thank.You.For.Cheering.Me.On." for Shou to say aloud. This relieves Ume, which Hime notices.
Hime remembers when Ume acknowledged finding moe within Shou and comments that she was extremely cute when she said that. Ume has the "whatever" attitude when she receives this comment, though.
Hime: "You become twice as cute as you are...If I found moe too I wonder if I'd become cute. And then...my path to becoming a bishojo just might be revealed even more..."
Ume: "...Gori-Hime. You've never been in love, have you?"
Hime: "Nope."
Ume: "Then it's useless. You need to at least be in love. If not, your performing horizons won't expand."
Hime thinks about "being in love" while Ume expresses her joy in finally finding her prince. But just as she's about to say, "My very own prince", a dark flashback flickers in her mind.
"It's impossible. It's absolutely impossible for you."
Ume's cheerful expression turns to one of complete shock remembering this. When alone in the hall, Hime wonders what caused Ume to end their conversation so abruptly. She assumes that what she was going to say was that she found her "prince", but isn't so sure. As she enters her classroom, she begins to wonder if there's a prince just for her that exists somewhere, too.
As if it were on cue, Senri appears to be the only one in the classroom and looks up from what he's doing when Hime opens the door. They're both silent for a bit. Then Hime turns around and slams the door behind her (^.^) She stays behind the door for a bit, and then she opens the door again, catching Senri's attention again.
Hime: "...Hey, Senri Kudou...have you ever fallen in love?"
Senri just gives her a blank stare.
Hime assumes that since he is an amazing voice actor, he must have experienced the necessary emotion of love before to act that out in his work. Senri turns away from her.
Senri: "I have no reason to give you an answer to that."
Hime: "ARGH! Well then, I'm sorry I asked!!"
Hime slams the door again, leaving in a rage, automatically thinking that he doesn't want to tell a low-class girl like her something like that anyway. With that, she promises she'll triumph over him.
In the classroom, Senri looks flustered and says that Hime is a strange girl.
Later on after rehearsing the script, everyone except Shou is worn out. The other three had to take all the verbal criticism that Ume had for them. Shou asks if he can set Ume straight even just a little, but they tell him that they're all fine. They're going to deal with it because this is their chance to dub an actual original video, so they're really looking forward to it. Shou softens when he hears this and agrees. Hime mentions that Ume's ongoing enthusiasm is also very cute. Shou sounds skeptical about that. He asks if it's her face that they're talking about. Mitchi asks Shou if he's ever even looked at Ume's face. Shou confirms he's looked for 3 seconds.
Over the days, they practice over and over again. However, Hime notes that a certain incident occurs just one week before the broadcast that totally ruins everything......................
During a rehearsal, Hime makes a terrible-sounding "zura" sound which Ume shoots down immediately. He calls her voice horrible and treats the rest of them like idiots, telling Mitchi to sound more cute and Tsukino to speak louder. Shou's tension continues to increase.
Ume: "Aside from Shou, I should just ask other people to do this...!"
Shou finally cracks. Ume notices Shou glaring at her with murderous intent. Behind him, an imaginary image of his former Bloody Alliance gang appears.
Shou: "...Cut it out, you bitch."
Ume freezes in absolute terror. Mitchi tries to shut him up but without even looking back, Shou punches Mitchi in the face and tells Ume to listen up good to what he has to say. He slams his hands against a wall which traps Ume.
Shou: "If you selfishly put down my precious comrades again and fail to include them in this, then this won't be the only thing I'll do to you."
As Ume faces Shou's rage, she becomes terrified and is unable to speak. That dark flashback of a girl telling her, "It's impossible" flashes in her mind over and over.
Hime rushes over to Shou and tells him that what he just did was really mean. Shou brushes it off, saying he'll just do something after this. However, when he looks back at Ume, he's absolutely startled to see her in tears. With utter embarrassment, Ume runs away covering her face. Mitchi grabs Shou by the shoulders and asks what they're going to do at that point, but Shou is still speechless as he realizes what he's just done to a girl.
Hime asks what they're going to do. They don't have a video, they weren't good at the video in the first place, and now that this has happened at that point, it may be too late for them.
When Ume is far away from them, she looks down at her script and, with a devastated, angry look coming on, rips the cover right off.

To tell the truth, I like Ume more when she's not moe crazy. Acts more mature and down to earth.
In the next chapter, we find out more about that girl who kept on appearing inside the flashbacks. It's an infuriating thing what that girl did to Ume! Gr! It's actually because of her that Ume is so particular about "moe" too.
I'm not sure what I feel about Shou's outrage. I'm glad he did it in that situation, yet he did sound pretty harsh. As expected from a former gang leader, but still...I guess it isn't in his nature to say it in a kinder way. Oh well, starting next chapter he goes out of his way to try and do better.
