GRANDPA NARRATION: {Whenever I apologized to you, I gave you your favorite flower.}

Hikari notes that it is Midori's birthday, yet instead of it being fun, it is a public fight between Midori and her father. Midori refuses to go to Australia with "the murderer", and Grandpa coldly assures her that he's not going to go. They stand, fold their arms, and glare at each other.

Hikari knows this was all caused because she brought them together without knowing that they were on bad terms with each other. She's still confused because she knows Grandpa loves Midori.

Grandpa begins to leave, saying that everything about it is absurd and he's going to go back to London. (Midori sticks her tongue out and waves her arms and tells him to go home^^.) However, Kei refuses to let him leave. He lifts him up over his shoulders and tells him that he won't allow him to leave until he agrees to go to Australia. With that, he locks Grandpa up.

As Grandpa is pounding from the inside of the room, Hikari asks Kei what the hell he's thinking^^.

KEI: "It's for our sake. It's the reason the President wants us to break up."

HIKARI: "He said I'm a bother to you?"

KEI: "He openly insists it's that, huh? However, I found that there's a reason someplace else. A hint to that is in Australia."

Later, after Midori changes clothes, she flat out refuses to go, adding that this is the worse birthday she's had and wonders why it's happening to her. Midori says that her father will never go. Kei asks her what she bases that answer on. Midori doesn't hesitate to shout that he has always cared more about the company than his own family and even neglected her sick mother. Hikari tells her that it's not true and that he thinks about his family. Midori let's out a sigh and says he doesn't understand. Before Hikari can argue back, Midori tells them to go back and enjoy the party.

Hikari asks Kei what they're going to do now. Kei thinks that if he can get Midori to agree with it, then it'll be easy to get Grandpa to agree as well. He tells Hikari to enjoy the party as he goes to Midori one more time.

HIKARI THOUGHTS: [If Takishima has Midori-san, then I'll persuade Jii-san. If he has feelings for his family, it's likely he'll surely understand.]

In the room he was locked in, Grandpa holds a pot of a certain type of flower with a bit of sadness in his expression. However, he hears ruckus at the window and looks up to see Hikari standing at the window. She simpley greets him, and he freaks out^^.

HIKARI: "Hi."

(note: they're on the 3rd floor.)

GRANDPA: "W-W-W-What did you come for?!"

HIKARI: "Huh? To persuade you."

GRANDPA: "Persuade me?!"

HIKARI: "Won't you go to Australia?"

GRANDPA: "I won't go."

Grandpa faces away from her when she says Midori will be pleased if he does. He says this has nothing to do with Midori. Hikari suggests that Midori has only misunderstood something. Afterall, he loves her very much, and yet she seems to misunderstand him about something. Grandpa blushes at what she says and is angry that she brings it up. Hikari smiles and tells him that he should clear up the misunderstanding, and if there's anything he did wrong then he should properly apologize for it.

Grandpa begins to have a flashback of a time when he gave his wife, Izumi, flowers to apologize for something.

GRANDPA NARRATION: {Everytime I apologized to you, I gave you your favorite flowers and said, "I'm sorry." And then you smiled as if you were happy.}

In this flashback, Izumi smiles at him and looks extremely happy about receiving her "flowers of happiness".

GRANDPA NARRATION: {But you won't forgive me anymore, right?}

In the present, Grandpa says that he can't do anything because it's a waste to do so. Hikari, however, contradicts him. Grandpa becomes angry once more and walks toward the window. Hikari asks where he's going, and he puts his leg up on the window sill, revealing that he's going to escape to London from there^^.

Hikari tries to stop him, telling him that he's going too far. (He refuses to believe that he's going too far^^.) Hikari has no choice but to grab him and hold him like a princess.

HIKARI: "...Geez...Jii-san is being so unreasonable."

GRANDPA: "Can't you put me down?!!"

HIKARI: "I have a growing feeling that you're unexpectedly similar to myself."

Grandpa let's himself go and continues to face away.

GRANDPA: "...That's right. You and I are similar. Because of that...she died."

Meanwhile, Kei has confronted Midori once more. She tells him her story of what happened on the night that her mother died. Apparently, her mother always worried about him.

MIDORI: "When my hospitalized mother's condition got worse, that man didn't even worry and went somewhere. Yet, Mother was concerned about him."

Her own flashback of Izumi appears. Izumi realizes that it is raining. She tries to get up, saying that he can't go to the meeting in that weather. When Midori tries to lay her down again, Izumi smiles and touches Midori's cheek, assuring her that she doesn't need to worry because she'll be back very quickly. However...

MIDORI: "After leaving for the meeting, my mother's condition took a turn for the worse and she died. Since then my father hasn't gone near Australia where my mother died. He still hasn't said just a few words of apology to Mother."

After telling her story to Kei, she tells him that it's very unlikely that her father will go to Australia. Kei is starting to look angry with her...

With Hikari's situation, Grandpa has just said they are similar to each other. Grandpa reveals that she has repeated the same thing he has. After a long pause, he stands up once again and plans to escape out the window, leaving Hikari to think about what has just been conveyed to her.

HIKARI THOUGHTS: [What is that? He said I've repeated the same thing because I'm similar? What?!]

Hikari turns in the window's direction with anger and jumps out. When she lands, she turns to Grandpa and declares that they are NOT the same. She doesn't run away from the problem like he does. Grandpa is angered by this.

GRANDPA: "Don't you understand that not thinking about the consequences of you actions will cause Kei to be unhappy?!"

Hikari suddenly suggests a bet between them. If he goes to Australia and his feelings don't change, then she'll leave Kei like he wants. Grandpa is wondering if this will really be okay since the bet is unfavorable towards her. Hikari is positive that it's okay because she believes Kei when he says his feelings will change. Grandpa is left to question what there is to change anyway...

Kei assures Midori that her father will go. He found out during his investigation that there have been many times that he has pulled out flight plans to Australia, however he never actually went. Midori spots Hikari and Grandpa coming towards them. Kei asks Midori if she won't take him to Australia now.

GRANDPA NARRATION: {There's no sense in changing things because you won't forgive me...}

When they're in Australia, Midori and Grandpa are pouting and facing away from each other. Kei asks Hikari what she did. (An arrow points at Grandpa^^.) Hikari cheerfully answers that she just believed in him. Kei gently smiles.

Grandpa asks Kei where he's going to take them on this tour. Kei reveals very first that the secret that was attached to the tour is at Izumi's grave site. Grandpa looks horrified to know that they're going there.

In the car, the atmosphere is intense and gloomy, mainly caused by Grandpa. Hikari notices the color of his face and knows he's not feeling well. When Kei announces that they'll be arriving soon, Grandpa jumps in surprise. Kei hears a small, "...out of here..." coming from Grandpa's direction. Grandpa fully shouts out, demanding them to let him out of there. Midori breaks in and asks what he's saying that for. He faces downwards, telling them to just let him out. He desperately shouts that he won't go to "that person's" grave.

Midori tells him that he's the worse for coming all this way only to want to go back home without apologizing to her mother. Grandpa buries his face in his hands, saying that even if he does apologize, he won't receive forgiveness.

In his flashback of his final moments with Izumi, he remembers her last request of him.

IZUMI: "Call my...steward...Kuse-san...Please let it be just the two of us..."

This completely broke his heart. In her last living moments, she wanted to be with another person and not him. He saw this as her not wanting to accept an apology from him. He's came to the conclusion that she did not forgive him.

Grandpa continues to tell Kei and the others that there's no reason for him to stand in front of Izumi's grave if he wasn't forgiven. He pleads with them to just let him out. Kei, however, refuses. When they reach their destination, Kei opens the door for Grandpa was tells him to go ahead and go.

GRANDPA THOUGHTS: [Even if I bring your favorite flowers...Even if I say "sorry"...she won't be there anymore.]

As they're walking through the graveyard, Kei tells them that he heard from Kuse-san that Izumi left him a message before she died. He knows that Grandpa will understand it when they reach the grave site.

GRANDPA THOUGHTS: [She won't forgive me anymore.]

When they come to Izumi's grave, Grandpa sees the flowers he always bought for Izumi blooming all around her grave site. She asked for them to be planted in her last moments.

Grandpa begins to cry as he stands directly in front of her grave and remembers Izumi saying that these flowers are her "happiness flowers".

GRANDPA THOUGHTS: [Did you...forgive me?]

Midori approaches with an apologetic, yet, disappointed look on her face. She yells at him, saying that he should at least visit her grave once in a while, calling him a damn old man.

Grandpa picks one of the flowers and hands one to Hikari. Hikari happily accepts it.

GRANDPA NARRATION: {Our "apology" flower.}

To be continued...NEXT CHAPTER IS JANUARY 5TH~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kaname is cool^^. He's now in my top 5 characters. That's all I have to say. No, that's not all I have to say.

All this time he hasn't been comparing Hikari and Izumi, but Hikari and himself! Somehow that makes even more sense than the first. He saw too many similarities between Hikari and himself and knew she would be capable of hurting Kei like he did with Izumi. And it seems he's the first one in the story to directly tell Hikari that she doesn't think about the consequences for her actions, huh? Hopefully she'll take that to heart and start to think things through beforehand. Or maybe she'll continue to be the compulsive person she's always been...

I liked Kei's actions in this chapter. I can imagine that if Kaname were Kei's boss, he would tell him, "Kei, you're fired!", for lifting him up and locking him up (XD). I like the hyped up Kei-chan...^^

It's going to be summer vacation soon within the storyline. I personally don't want to spend too much time if there's going to be a summer chapter or two. What I want to see is a chapter about their Fall 2nd-year school field trip. Perhaps their school doesn't have that sort of thing, but I would definitely want to see it if it could be included.

Ah...I must continue my translation work with Irhene Gakuen Community. Chapter 84, here I come...
