So it was really freaking hot out today in Tokyo. 33C (or about 91F). And before people start discussing how hot it is wherever you happen to live, I remind you that Tokyo is A) humid and B) I was walking around town today. I'm seriously so exhausted right now. At least I have AC. I spent one summer in northern Scotland when they were having a massive heat wave. It only got into the 80s (28C or so), which isn't TOO bad, but it's Northern Scotland. No AC, ANYWHERE, and still sunny at 10pm. Plus, we were on vacation, so we only had long-sleeve shirts and jeans with us. And it could still be worse for Tokyo. In the summer of 2004, we had a MASSIVE heat wave with 40 straight days of temperatures above 30C (87F), with temperatures getting as high as 40C (104F). So I really shouldn't be complaining about a measly 33C, but still. It's HOT, dammit!
Anyway, I beat the heat for a bit by going to watch Toy Story 3 in 3D, which was AWESOME. I totally admit that I cried at the end. But at least I stopped crying before the credits ended: I left the theater walking behind two 20-something women, and one of them was bawling. It was pretty cute.
