Beach trip
Hello live journal! Have you missed me? ;) I had the sudden urge to update, so lets do this!
This past weekend (Thursday evening- Sunday evening) Matt and I went to OC for some vacay time! We stayed at Pat's house in Ocean Pines which was wonderful b/c one less thing to pay for. We got in real late on Thursday so we basically just went to bed when we got there.
Friday when we woke up, it was overcast and ugly looking. Perfect beach weather :P After watching the weather report and seeing that it was supposed to storm, we decided against going to the beach. Instead we headed down to the boardwalk to walk around for a bit. Of course, the second that we get there, the sun comes out. Guess who didn't put any sunscreen on? So of course, I got burned when I wasn't even on the beach! We had lunch and rode on the Ferris wheel. At this point, it didn't look like the storm was coming, so we went back to Pat's house, changed and headed to the beach. The waves were a bit big, so I was careful... The second I turn my back, a big wave comes and takes me out. I get tossed around under the water a bit and get my shoulder scratched up. After that, I decide to go take a break from the waves. After both of us were done, we went back, showered, and went out to dinner at this cute Italian place back in OP. the pizza was delicious! :)
Saturday, we spent most of the day at the beach! Woo! It was perfect weather, but the waves were still a bit scary. Luckily I didn't get my butt kicked today. I was smart and didn't stay in the water as long as I wanted so I could go reapply sunscreen and sit in the shade. During this off time, I read a bit of Evermore, my newest series obsession! Everyone go read it! :) Matt was not as wise as I was with the sunscreen and stayed in the water for 2+ hours... needless to say, he got burned on his shoulders, etc. After showering, we went out for crabs! The first one I had was not so good. It was brown inside. Made me a bit weary about the rest of the crabs. They're not as good as the ones from the Crab Shack near Annapolis, but they were acceptable.
Sunday, after a slight breakdown from me (due to lack of communication and sleep) we went to the beach for a few hours before having to head home. Overall, had a great time at the beach with the boy :)
Now back to the grind of grad school. Only 7 more classes. Next trip... visiting sister in NC!
Now we just need everyone to get along and all will be okay with the world!
