Today I received a new package from
AmiAmi with some Layton goodies!! :3
First up, the Layton Bobble Head Figure!
B'AAW!! LOOK HOW ADORABLE HE IS!! X3
He's approximately the same size as the
Revoltech Layton Figure, only a few millimeters taller. And of course, the proportions are all different making his head much larger. For those wondering, his head doesn't really bobble all that much. It just barely jiggles. I didn't pre-order him way back when I had the chance because I was afraid his head would bounce around all over the place but it doesn't. As long as you don't touch him, his head won't move at all.
I thought the box made to look like a building was really cute. I love the little door on the side. Interestingly, there was a sheet of plastic protecting the box windows. Usually you see this sort of protection for display screens and things of that nature, not on packaging.
Just like with the Revoltech Layton, the bobble head figure had a contest where you could win a "Golden Layton" by sending in a postcard with the answer to the included puzzle. Only 30 were given away.
And now, the Jigsaw Puzzle!
It's been a really really long time since I last bought a jigsaw puzzle. (1992, Batman Returns -
Catwoman.)
I'm not a huge fan of jigsaw puzzles, so when I saw this Layton one I wasn't sure whether I wanted it or not. I'm glad I got it because it is very well made and lovely.
Here's what came in the box: the 108 pieces, a packet of glue, a scraper, and a survey card.
I thought it was interesting how the glue was included with the puzzle. Here you usually have to buy the glue separately, right? I've never seen a puzzle come with glue.
The puzzle pieces are made from really nice sturdy cardboard, not the flimsy crap that peels apart. I'm very impressed. :)
Here's the completed puzzle. It's 26 x 38 cm.
I'd love to hang it up on my wall, but I don't want to glue it together. I'd like to find a cheap puzzle frame where no gluing is required....
And last, the Revoltech Supplies!
One of my Laytons has a broken arm joint. He was incredibly embarrassed when his arm fell out during teatime one day, so after a long quest I finally got my hands on some replacement joints.
These were not as easy to find as you'd think, so I bought a whole bunch of them. 6mm single joint. The only choices of color I saw was black and light flesh (for the ladies and pale guys.) Thankfully these will also work for Jack Skellington as he uses the same size.
I also got a few of these Revolpliers because I wasn't able to pull out the joint with my fingers and these cost much less than actual metal pliers which can scratch up the figure if you're not really careful. (Which I'm not.) I haven't performed the replacement surgery yet, but I plan to over the weekend. We'll see how that goes...
