A post with substance to it! AMAZING, I KNOW.

You know how sometimes people on your friendslist post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy the topics below, erase my answers and put yours in their place, and then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration. One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out. :'D

1. FIRST NAME: Claire! There are lots of annoying/adorable nicknames you can do with this, and trust me when I say I've heard them all.

2. AGE: 20. Legal to drink in every country but my own :||||||| Also, September birthday, am a Libra.

3. LOCATION: USA. Specifically, Pennsylvania during the school year, and South Carolina during holidays. For those of you unfamiliar with US geography, that's cold and arctic in the winter/fall, and blazingly hot with like 80% humidity during the spring/summer. S-Sob

4. OCCUPATION: Full-time student. I do some work (see: 6 hours a week) at the archeology lab, labeling artifacts and sorting soil samples. I sort of want to kill myself, but it's money.

5. PARTNER?: N-None. I am sort of in a sticky place with this, what with the whole recently coming to terms with the bisexual thing. There is someone I am inordinately fond of, but I haven't told her for various reasons.

Wouldn't surprise me if she knew anyway. I'm not known for my skill at concealing feelings, even online.

6. KIDS: HA. No. I want lots of animals, though I do love kids. I don't know how good a mother I'd be, and I think I would be perfectly fine going through life without reproducing.

That being said, I have been considering fun things like egg donation or surrogate pregnancy. There are some people who DO want kids after all, and I have no qualms with offering my unused bodily functions up to others.

7. BROTHERS/SISTERS: One younger sister, who is basically my opposite in every way. She's in high school and we don't see each other much, which is why I think we're getting along pretty well these days. I like her ok. I've also got three MUCH older half-brothers who are in their 40s (my dad is old!) with kids and such. They're more like uncles and I don't see them very often.

8. PETS: I have a very old, very sweet lab named Casey. She's something like 17 years old, can't see, can't stand very well, and recently had to have surgery because she stopped breathing. It's really only a matter of time before she goes, but I hope we're doing ok with making her life nice and comfy before then.

Aaaaand on the other end of the spectrum I have a Russell Terrier named Bailey who thinks he is some combination of a bulldozer and helpless infant. We spoil him rotten. He will actually curl up in your arms like a baby. S-So cute >3< I am not his favorite human, but he will come whine at me if I look at him passingly. Also he will bark at like. Trees. THEY COULD BE ENEMIES, YOU NEVER KNOW!

9. LIST THE 3-5 BIGGEST THINGS GOING ON IN YOUR LIFE:

>>School: AUUUUUUGH AUUUUUGH AUUUUGH-

Ok so it's not that bad but. I've been going through a loooooot of shit medically that's been fucking up my school performance. It's rather stressful! However, I've been making pretty good progress on what exactly it is I want to do with my life. Osteology has recently been pinging my pretty hard, as have historical linguistics. IF I COULD COMBINE THEM IN SOME SORT OF SUPER COOL SCIENCE, I WOULD!

>>GIRLS

Yes. I like them. Not sure how that is going to work out, as I'm still just flailing uselessly most of the time. It's a little crazy, but I feel a lot better now that I've come to terms with things. Not that I was ever denying it in the first place, but I hadn't really been sure.

>>Medicaaaaation

ADD is super fun when you've been dependant on medication for controlling it your whole life, and then suddenly have to quit cold turkey!

And by fun I mean I hate every second of it. Luckily my cardiologist says that getting back on stimulants will be ok, so hopefully I'll stop failing classes

Man my life is boring :|

10. PARENTS: MY MOM IS COOL. We're basically like the same person, it's really scary D: That being said, she's way crazy intelligent (Dr. Mom, of course) and I hope I don't fail miserably and make her disappointed with me. Since she is a doctor, she was away most of my childhood. This turned out ok, as in the last few years she's been spending more time at home and we've gotten pretty close. I definitely see her more as a friend than a mother though, but that's not really a bad thing. I like that we're comfortable with each other as people.

She's pretty strict, but not unrealistically so, and I like that balance. Sort of annoying when I'm having a stressful time of things, but I know it's for the best. I do need someone there to keep me on task, and mom does that.

My dad is a giant ball of d'awww. He adopts my friends and loves everyone and likes to spoil people. He's also the only person I know who can consistently get a smile out of babies. Cuuuuuute.

11. WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR CLOSEST FRIENDS?: Angie! And Ran and Neb and Cy and Amry and really anyone who wants to be. I'm not picky.

meme, ilu all, rl stuff
