Boku wa isha janai... DANCER da!

Why, hello there, Nurse Tadayoshi/Motoki Kensuke. (๑→ܫ←)ノ♫♬

Ohmyalkdfjalkdfjalskdf. I have finally downloaded and finished watching the HD version of GM~Odore Doctor's first episode. *happily twirls around* Even though I had been buried under a long list of dramas and movies to watch, I just HAD TO prioritize this one. <3 So here are my random thoughts about the episode, in sequence (may be spoiler-ish for you--if you want absolutely no spoilers--so be warned):

  • AJDLSAKDJALSF. It's Shounentai. With then-19-year-old dai-senpai Higashiyama Noriyuki-san. Dancing and singing Kamen Butoukai. *squeals* I even had to search for the lyrics since the song was so LSS-able. 8D
SHY na iiwake kamen de kakushite
Odoro odoro karisome no ichiya wo
Kitto omae mo nayameru MADONNA
Sutena sutena Maji na PURAIDO wo ima wa

WAKE UP! DESIRE (Suki sa omae ga)
LIGHT UP! YOUR FIRE (Suki sa shinu hodo)
Mekurumekutte kure PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE
WAKE UP! DESIRE (I WANT YOU, NO, NO, NO)
LIGHT UP! MY FIRE (I LOVE YOU, NO, NO, NO)
Yurete mashou no RIZUMU

Isso X・T・C Ore to X・T・C Tsuyoku tsuyoku

WAKE UP! DESIRE (I WANT YOU, NO, NO, NO)
LIGHT UP! MY FIRE (I LOVE YOU, NO, NO, NO)
Toketa mashou no RIZUMU
  • Higashiyama-san was undoubtedly handsome when he was younger. Come to think of it, he still looks quite good today, for a 43-year-old ojisan. He still has his I'm-a-Johnny's-super-idol good looks and charm, and these quite add to his ageless charisma. <3

  • This made me wonder if that brat named Ninomiya Kazunari would still be able to make me scream when he's already fifty (and I'm already 43). I think he'd still be able to, though, considering that everything about him is just, well, age-defying. *_*

  • Oooh, Tabe Mikako-chan becomes suspicious, since the person sitting beside her looks a lot like the Shounentai member on the video. But when asked, her seatmate answers, "I've always been told that we look similar, but he's a completely different person." (Me: Riiight, Higashiyama-san. 8D) Then he says he's from a group called "Ami and Go", and then he suddenly stands up from his seat, surprising the other innocent airplane passengers by singing/dancing. Kimi to, boku to de Ami to Go! (Me: Okayyyyy, Higashiyama-san. 8D)

  • Flight Attendant-san: "Is there a doctor on board?" I was suddenly giddy: if I was on a plane and then somebody suddenly collapses or something, as a nurse, what would I do? Well, I think I'd still stand up, even if they think that I'm "only" a nurse. If there was a doctor, fine then, you take the stage. Still, doctors may know a lot more than nurses do, but nurses still know a lot as well. *shrugs*

  • Oh, so Mikako-chan is a trainee/intern (kenshuuin) in this dorama. I thought she was a nurse, too. 8D

  • Then my nurse instincts kicked in. Patient profile: an old man, gingerly holding his head like it hurts/he's nauseous, looking like he's going to vomit any time; he apparently suddenly didn't feel well; he has a blood pressure of 190; he suddenly collapses; (+) nystagmus. Mikako-chan says it's stroke. But Higashiyama-san disagrees, instructs her the proper interventions, and saves the day. (NEED SUBSSS! My Japanese medical vocab still sucks! So what was it? Was it vertigo??) Then he declares, "Boku wa isha janai..." *insert some kicks + dance moves here* ..."DANCER da." Then he WINKS. *squeals*

  • Me: Oh God, I need to stop squealing over Higashiyama-san.

  • This request wasn't granted though, since we soon see him doing some ballet leaps, pirouettes, some boyband turns, and some Johnny's backflips right there along the busy street. (ROFL.) Someone make a gif out of this scene, please. Or can someone do a manip and make Higashiyama-san wear a pink tutu while doing those pirouettes? That'd be crazy. 8D

  • Okay, all these squealing over the 43-year-old ojisan probably already made Nurse!Tada jealous *eherm* so let me squeal right now after seeing this sparkly sparkly first appearance of the hot Man in White:

  • If I was the one standing there, I'd probably be like: ohgoshhhhhhhhhe'scomingoverherewhatdoidowhatdoidohe'sthehottestnurseevurrrrrrrr. Then I'd pretend to faint. So he'd have to perform CPR lalalalalalalala

  • Then after he shows that snobby princessy attitude on me just because I looked for his hated department, I'd be like:
nuhuhyoucan'tdothattomeyoulittleprincessyjerkkkk. Then I'd still squeal because he's still a hot jerk after all. (Although he's still too freaking thin, in my opinion. Arghhhhh. Tacchon, do you remember what the word "food" means? No? Well, you eat them.)

  • This is what I've always dreamed about. Doing patient rounds with Nurse!Tada standing there (ahhh the silent hotnessss) *daydreams* <333 It's just so cool seeing him play the role of a character who is in the same profession. <333 The thought that he also knows what I know, and that he also studied what I have studied... it's so cool feeling like he's a colleague. *_*

  • Now that I think of it, watching a medical dorama really makes me feel "at home", to be honest. Like, "this is where I belong". Or "look, they're in our turf". <3 It's the genre I can relate to. (Although it makes me feel irritated with some medical dramas/movies when they make some factual errors. Like, don't they have a consultant? :|)

  • Another random thought: I want to study at a Japanese University Hospital! I want to be a kenshuuin, too! I want I want I want~~ T_T

  • Another random thought: TACCHON LOOKS GOOD IN A NURSE'S UNIFORM, HOLDING A PATIENT'S CHART, AND TAKING DOWN NOTES. Yes. AND I LOVE HIS SHORT HAIRSTYLE. That is all. Err, actually, no, that is not all.

  • After seeing these, I was really in the verge of screaming with delight. Good thing I have some bit of self-control left in me. 8D Nurse!Tada assisting in patient transfer?? Nurse!Tada assisting in a biopsy?? Nurse!Tada simply pushing a supplies cart?? And Nurse!Tada simply looking annoyed?? OHMYLDSJFLSDKFJLSDKFJSDFJD~~~

  • I think Nurse!Tada and I have a similarity. He apparently settled for being a nurse because he can't be a doctor. Like Higa Manami in Code Blue. Like me. Oh well. Although my situation is different, in that I am just quite lazy. 8D

  • Because I think I've already fangirl-ed too much on Higashiyama-san and Nurse!Tada, I think I shall stop the spoilers here. 8D (Or am I already too late? 8D) All I can say for now is that it's like a Japanese House MD. Rare diseases, running different tests, several wrong diagnoses, trial and error, piecing clues together. But I love this dancing doctor. Won't cap that particular epic dancing-doctor-thinking-deeply scene anymore; just watch out for it. You'll know it when you see it. "FIRE!" 8D

  • Anyway, the conclusion to the case was cool. SPOILER: So was that a basal skull injury -> CSF leakage -> they thought it was rhinorrhea -> herniation? Thus the Kiari disease (herniation of the cerebellum)? Ack, sorry for the jargon. I'm just still confused. Is anyone planning to sub this? T_T And Goto Hideo is so... wow! <3 Well, anyway, I'm excited for the next episode. <3 Although to be honest, it's still Code Blue > GM~Odore Doctor for me. Because Pi stripped right in the first episode. Why didn't you do that, Tada?? I'm liking GM, although so far, Code Blue is still more exciting, at least in my opinion. Oh well, we'll have to see. ;)

  • It's so nice to hear an Eito song as a dorama theme song! <3 Suddenly hearing Baru's voice, I felt a sudden gush of affection. <333
Mou issai, mou issai, kurikaerazu ni ayumi tsuzuketai,
Mada mada owaranai kara~! <3

fangirlism.
