Hello. I'm married. I have 5 step kids. And today was scripture study!!

We've been reading the 4 gospels.
What did you learn by following the example of Jesus?

Answers:
Ry's answer
Ry: Him not answering the pharisees and the people when he was in court.
It shows bravery, I guess? I think that's the closest I'm gonna get to it?
Iron Rod: What's another attribute that could go with it?
Ry: Probably...Um, I'm not sure.
Iron Rod: Patience?
Ry: I'm not sure
Iron Rod : What made it stick out to you?
Ry: I probably wouldn't be able to do that.
Iron Rod : How can you use that to benefit you?
Ry: I could help me to be more patient
Iron Rod: When?
Ry: All the time. All the time every day.

Reggio's Answer:
Reggio: Does the birth of Jesus Christ count?
Iron Rod: You want to be born
Reggio: Huh? Uh?
Reggio:You can take it from the wiseman. And I would travel and do that for him.
Iron Rod: So not necessarily what Jesus did.
Reggio: You could apply it to your life. You would go and do the stuff they did for him.
Minabird: You want to go and bring him myrrh and frankencense and gold?
Reggio: I WOULD do it. I WOULD give him a gift.
Iron Rod: How could you do that today?
Reggio: I could pray and tell him that I would do that?
Iron Rod: Ok. So you can't. So what can you do?
Reggio: Helping out others.
Iron Rod: Helping others instead?
Reggio: Yes.

Minabird's Answer:
I really noticed this time how rich the gospels were. How much substance and knowledge were in them. For today and what I've been thinking of today, Grace is a key element in the scriptures. Jesus didn't condemn or criticize or pick. He kept instructing on the way to go. The way to act. He pointed the way. But he didn't pick on individual pieces. He just focused on inviting, and leading and shining. In the conversation with m

Iron Rod: To add to that, When you notice, the Savior--he only interacted with a few different--it was probably a hundred or a couple hundred people--he only interacted with some in a very negative way. The only people he interacted with negatively were those who put down or didn't accept others. The ones who didn't love who they interacted with. The pharisees and sadducees. The people who were selfish.

Third:
Third: Seeing, figuring out how many things he went through but he didn't do anything about it.
Iron Rod: So like what Rylan was saying--only expanded?
Third: I don't even remember what Rylan was saying.
Iron Rod: He said all the people who said things to him but he didn't respond. But you're talking about a more expanded version of it. So what things are you thinking of?
Third: Rod: Not really anything really. I was just thinking about it.
Iron Rod: Do you want to give me an example of something that happened to him?
Third: Well, I guess the main one would be when they killed him. That's pretty big.
Iron Rod: A certain part of it?
Third: Yes, well, them just choosing to kill him in general.
Iron Rod: What can you take away from that to better you?
Third: I guess it's like patience, like Spike said.
Rylan: No matter how bad you die, it won't be worse than that.

Iron Rod:
I was thinking about this when I actually went to do this. It's not an easy question because I"m actually fairly familiar with the gospels and Jesus life. But I don't want to dodge the question. I want to be sure that things are fair and that I set an example. It's not quite the same, but I know what it is of Christ's life that I"d like to do more of in my own. I really admire his ability to put examples of things and principles into story form. I really like his ability to create parables. And even though I like to say, whenever i"m trying to get you to understand the concepts--'what if this was to happen?' I don't think that's quite the same. It's something I would like to do .It's something I'd like to have the ability to do. I think it would be good to be able to do for talks. To talk about how things could happen this way. Kind of like the story of the sheep that I did a couple of months ago.

Tom:
Tom: What about when Jesus found out that John was kileld and then we went up to the mountain by himself....And then not holding a grudge against the person who had him killed.
Iron Rod: So he didn't...
Tom: so he didn't want revenge on the person who had him killed?
Iron Rod: So he didn't hunt him down and have him killed?
Tom: Yah.
