On spiders in cars and zombies

Yesterday was quite thrilling!

First off, I had to try and figure out if I was going to be able to make it to belly dance, while at the same time helping with Ian's (college friend Ian, not BAAU or SCAD Ian) no-budget zombie project. And... that fell through, so zombie project we did. I was the designated getaway driver, and I couldn't even let off a scream at the appropriate time, because I'm too awesome because I was a little embarrassed to to run down the street in a residential area screaming my ass off while the boys did their acting.

We ketchupped Zach for blood (because no college student outside of stage hands owns their own corn syrup/raspberry sauce/food coloring) and the raw footage is pretty silly. I'm hoping Ian fixes it up enough so I can show it around.

So, after all that, I had other plans I had to rush off to. A couple of friends invited me along for a ladies' night out in Santa Cruz, so we all dressed up to go have tasty diner food. After tasty diner food and some deep conversation, we dropped off one of the girls and started for home. That was when Kelly (the friend who invited me) said she saw something moving, a spider, on the back of my headrest. She watched it, and said it moved to my side; at which point I flipped out, made sure to say I was arachnophobic, kept my body clear to the front of the car as my imagination went wild imagining this huge ugly thing crawling near my head--even on my head--and begged for the driver to pull over. She found a safe spot and when I thought she had stopped I launched myself from the car, only to find we were still moving a few miles per hour. I managed to get a nice little road rash and bruise from the ordeal, COULD have sprained my ankle the way I landed, but was overall unharmed. Kelly managed to kill it and announce it was safe to come back inside the car, and we resumed our night of talking and talking.

I can only come to the conclusion that I am ridiculous.

We had a good laugh about it on the way back, and it's a nice group story to tell for future parties.

life, silliness
