So, I went to a concert last night to see
Niyaz live with Joe and Rachel (HS friends). It was breath-taking! I've been listening to this group for almost five years now, and the chance to see them live may be a chance I won't get again, or not often.
Azam Ali (personal favorite) was in top form, her voice gave me chills over and over. The musicians were amazing, and I think the only reason why I didn't get teary-eyed from the whole night is because I didn't speak the language she sang in.
I even got to tell her how amazing her music was afterward (what I'd like to personally say to every musician I listen to; appreciation of their hard work), and I got my ticket stub signed. We got a picture and I got a hug! I'm glad that I'm not the fangirl I was years back. I would have been shaking and making an imbecile of myself. Here I was able to recognize she was a person getting a lot of attention for one night (I feel like in our society, it's a rarity to remember that the entertainer is a person also), so it was best to be polite and patient, ask and say what was needed, and then move on and bask in the greatness that was that night.
That was well worth pushing back my tattoo for.
