somebody got ahold of our credit card number and were trying to make purchases with it.
luckily we had to go buy groceries tonight, because our credit company smartly realized we couldn't be shopping in both oregon and illinois at the same time. thankfully this only began 3 days ago, and they have just been trying out tiny amounts at different places (to see if it will work before they buy big things, i assume) with some even being denied. so yay for that, and our credit company's super-fast action.
but wtf!?! how did someone get our information? we're always so careful! and can they take numbers and a name and make a fake card to use? because how else could you charge $10 at a gas station?
i wish that there was a way, the next time they use the card, to have the thing say "THIS CARD IS STOLEN, PLEASE CALL POLICE" rather than just "denied/cancelled."
