Chapter 10 - Stay

“That’s all?”

“Yes. It’s all he needed for now.” A satisfied smirk appeared on YunHo’s lips as the man deleted the documents he’d been working with KyuHyun with painstaking precision in the past two days. It’s done now so there’s no longer any need for him to keep them.

A dragged silence before a sigh was heard at the other end. “Hey YunHo... You know I always got your back right?” YunHo nodded quietly, knowing the other man doesn’t really need to hear his confirmation. As expected, the man on the phone continued daringly. “But I really can’t understand you on this one. It’s always for business before but the way you’re handling this seems to be getting personal... You’re pressuring him from every fucking corner. You’re not just trying to annihilate the Dragon Tribe, are you? Wiping them clean and taking over Japan is just the plus, isn’t it? Everything- It’s all about him. From the start. This is about Rei, isn’t it? You’re taunting him. Shit. What are you planning YunHo?”

YunHo smiled into the phone at the worry he heard. “Don’t worry about unnecessary things... I’ll take care of you.”

“Don’t you fucking say that to me. It’s not that that I’m worried about. It’s you! You’re pressuring him too much. You’re taking too long with him... You’re putting too much effort for this! And by the rate of things, I’m not sure if this is good anymore. Would it be worth all this?”

YunHo’s face turned tightly rigid, voice deadly cold. “It’s worth more than you know.” Realizing the obvious anger in his tone, the man willed himself to relax. “Don’t you worry. Everything is still going according to plan. I can’t tell you anything but you’ll understand.”

"Shit. I just freaking hope this won’t backfire. Rei’s getting a bit unpredictable nowadays. You’re straining his ego and his business damn too much man.”

YunHo smiled, pleased with the information. Perfect. Just like how I want him to be. “It won’t.”

“Fuck you and your confidence. Whatever. Gotta go now. So you’re sure I just had to do that?” The man asked for the last time about his latest instruction.

“Yes. That’s enough allusion. He just needed that little push in the right direction.”

“... Okay.”

“Be safe. And stay in contact.”

A snort. “You know I will.” And the line was offensively dead.

YunHo put the phone down, stifling a tired yawn. He’s annoyed at what he’s not allowed to know, the man knew. But it’ll past soon enough, he’s sure of that. That’s the reason the man chose him to be there.

YunHo knew all along Rei would have guessed something with all the ‘sudden’ misfortunes he’s subjected into though it was relatively sooner than he first thought. But it wasn’t a problem. No, of course it’s not for someone like me and Kyu. All he had to do was pushed forward his plan and finalized the breaching.  It wasn’t hard considering KyuHyun had been recovering significant facts and placing insinuating statistics from within since the beginning.

They just had to make sure that everything’s perfect and nothing is out of place.

A loud beep on the intercom put a halt on his wondering thought.

“YunHo, there’s-“

“I told you. Whoever it was, don’t let them in. I’m not seeing anyone.” YunHo instructed, not bothering to look at the camera. He was physically and mentally exhausted. All he’d done to rightfully avenge JiHye was taking its toll on him. He’s right, I am putting too much effort in this. YunHo winced at the imaginary JiHye materializing in his head. But it’s for her.

“I-“

A voice he instantly recognized replaced the familiar voice of his men. “Ouch, not even me YunHo? You hurt my feelings.” YunHo’s face tightened as he looked at the sickeningly cheery face. “Hello there YunHo. Remember me? We need to talk.”

Fisting his knuckles, YunHo agreed.

There's really supposed to be no surprise at all. JaeJoong knew his Master would be at the mansion when he got home from school today. He knew because YunHo didn't leeave for work that morning. He knew because the man had been preoccupied with something in his work room for the past two days. In fact, the man hadn't left the mansion at all for these two days.

But JaeJoong's used to it already. YunHo had always acted like that from the very beginning. His Master really had no routines at all, doing anything as he pleased all the time. Sometimes, he would be leaving so early in the morning. Other times, he would be missing so very late at night. Most of the time he would be gone during the normal working hours but every now and then, the man would lock himself in his work room for days, handling everything remotely without even leaving the mansion.

Yet JaeJoong never complained. He didn't start when his Master sometimes disappeared for weeks at the beginning of his stay with YunHo and he wasn't about to start now. He had already familiarized himself with YunHo's unfixed schedules, long resigning to the fact that YunHo was who he was.

And JaeJoong was his because of that simple fact. For the boy, complaining meant denying that.

But that’s a whole other story. Right now, JaeJoong was taken by surprise and losing his poise as the car travelled the familiar path nearing the mansion. The boy slowly came to realize that the car was moving slower than usual. He then noticed that his YooChun hyung was also eying the sight in front him with disdain.

And that confirmed what JaeJoong thought.

It was extremely obvious that today was different. That there wasn't only his Master inside. That this ‘visit’ wasn’t planned.

It's more than enough to cause a pulse of alarm run through the boy's body.

Because YunHo had never accepted visitors at home unless he himself wanted to see them. And even then, they always come individually or in a small group but this time, JaeJoong could see dozens of black cars lining up in front of the mansion even from the distance. Whoever it was, he must be important and powerful.

As the car pulled a stop further than YooChun usually did, JaeJoong came to realize that there were also too many people standing on guard outside the mansion, just in front of the massive door. YunHo would never allow such things. And those men looked downright terrifying with their leering face and scarred body. They were obviously not the man with YunHo.

It was hard for JaeJoong to explain how he's so sure but YunHo's men had a different kind of fear-inducing aura around them. It’s not because they wore suits and they looked 'decent'. It’s just in the unexplainable way they exudes confidence and importance, remarkably looking serious and in control so much that they deserves to be standing beside his Master every single time.

But watching these unfamiliar men through the car's window, JaeJoong felt only dread. It was a different sort of alarm compared to the one YunHo's men emitted. Even after all this time, JaeJoong still felt it everytime he walked past YunHo's trusted men. There's that odd sense of awe deep within him despite the terror he felt. It was perhaps that strange combination that makes the men with his Master all the more terrifying. It was as if you can, no, you're willing, to trust them with your life although you know they won't hesitate to kill you. But these men JaeJoong sees right now looked the same as those thugs who’s in charge of him and the others back at the casino. You're only able to be afraid of them because they're just capable of hurting, not protecting. Never.

YooChun kept quiet as they both stayed in the car with a troubled face.

"Hyung...? Who- ... Master- Master's okay, right?" There were only dread in the boy's voice and that forced YooChun to bring his control back. He pulled his calm facade on and easily smiled at JaeJoong.

"Of course." The man paused, glancing outside before craning his head to look at JaeJoong again. "Hey kid, I'm going to walk you inside... I have something I wanna see YunHo about. I want you to go straight into your room and stay there okay?"

JaeJoong's worry amplified at that suggestion. YooChun never offered to walk him inside. Not even once, unless of course the rare times they were back from an outing and the boy had bought too much in his shopping mood. His YooChun hyung would then had to help carry his stuff inside, complaining all the way and teasing JaeJoong nonstop. But that was a totally different atmosphere compared to now.

The fact that YooChun even opened the door for him, holding JaeJoong near with a hand draped across the boy's shoulder protectively screamed 'BadBadBad'. But the boy didn't dare breathe a word more, foolishly entertaining the idea that his fear would not be real unless spoken.

JaeJoong strained his ears outside the wooden door, trying to catch what they were saying. He’s sure his Master would be mad if the man knew what he's doing right that moment but he'd been waiting for almost an hour, fidgeting uselessly in his room. With each passing minutes, his intensifying worry was getting too unbearable for the boy to bear any longer.

Thus the reason he now found himself trying to eavesdrop outside his Master’s work room. He just needed to know that everything’s okay, he reasoned with himself.

JaeJoong held his breath out reflex when he heard a man's voice.

"It’s about that ‘thing’ with Wu last year, isn’t it?” An amused chortle. “Why can’t you just let it go? It was my only mistake. We didn’t even lose anything.”

"That’s because YunHo himself 'apologized' to Wu.” YooChun’s voice resounded angrily and JaeJoong flinched. He’d never heard the man ever getting that annoyed. Come to think of it, he’d never heard the man ‘unhappy’. His YooChun hyung that he knew was a playful and kind man with a pleasant voice and friendly eyes.“If YunHo didn’t settle your shit, we won't even get through Taiwan! Wu would’ve done anything just to mess with us! Don’t you fucking-“

“So? Can't see why you're getting so hyped up with it. That was a minor slip-up of mine. Everybody makes mistakes once in a while. I still don't see why he let that woman handled things. I'm still the best op-"

"What? You fucking dar-"

"YooChun, calm down." YunHo's familiar cold controlling tone brought the boy the assurance he needed. Master’s okay, he’s still in charge, he thought full of relief. Not even a second after, the boy smacked his head softly. Of course he would be! Nothing scares him. He shook his head disppointed that he’d doubted his Master and paid attention to YunHo’s words. "And Ji Ho, that's enough. There’s nothing left to talk about. I won’t change my mind. HyoRi will still handle everything on my behalf until I said it’s enough. And that’s final. You, of all people should’ve known better than to question my judgment.”

There were noises JaeJoong couldn’t recognize after that and the boy instantly thought that the situation was getting a bit serious. They were probably fighting by now. Unable to stop himself, the boy pushed open the door and stepped inside fisting his knuckles. He doesn’t really know what he’s supposed to do; he’ll just have to think about it after assessing the situation. His worry was proved irrelevant though because his Master was seated on a chair without a care - broken glasses in front of him; fingers tracing a gun in his hand -  and YooChun was glaring at someone who had his back to JaeJoong.

“Jae!” YooChun’s alarmed voice at the sight of the boy reminded JaeJoong that he wasn’t supposed to be there. He quickly looked at YunHo in fright and there was a change in the man’s somber expression but it was only for a fleeting seconds, JaeJoong wondered if it ever was there at all.

The unknown man who had his back to JaeJoong turned around and JaeJoong was taken aback at the pleasant face and inviting smile that was offered to him. “Ah... So this is the kid you’ve been keeping huh?” Just upon releasing that simple comment, the man’s entire being changed. That amiable smile he wore earlier immediately turned into a strangely thrilled smirk. “What’s your name little boy?”

“Ji Ho! We have nothing left to talk about so go. I won’t change my mind!” His Master’s impatient voice and desperate eyes startled the boy simply because the man very rarely showed his emotion that easily to other people. Yet the man named Ji Ho only laughed, eyes twinkling in unfathomable delight as he continue to scrutinize JaeJoong as if he’s unaware of YunHo glaring at him with so much fury.

“I could definitely understand...” He stated, eying the boy up and down before chuckling dangerously. “You should be careful YunHo, of who you make your friends and who you choose to become enemies with. You’ll never know what you might lose because of it.”

The statement stunned the boy so much he’d gaped stupidly at the man. He’d missed YunHo’s reaction altogether but didn’t missed the way YooChun’s face go even redder in anger since the man was in his direct line of sight from the beginning. JaeJoong swore his YooChun hyung would’ve pounded on the man for such remark had he not walked out, winking at JaeJoong playfully before he does. The boy inched away by reflex, overcome by unexpected horror. He was reminded again that he should never judge people with their appearance - a valuable lesson he learnt at the casino and had foolishly forgotten until now.

“Fucking basta-“

“YooChun. Go. You have nothing left to do here. Go.” YunHo’s voice was considerably weak - strange - even though it still carried the familiar finality in it.

YooChun’s protest died on his tongue at the stare he was subjected under. He gulped in defeat, squeezing JaeJoong’s shoulder for support before he too walked out of the room, closing the door anxiously as he left.

There was a loud frustrated sigh before YunHo got up tiredly, not sparing JaeJoong a glance as he walked further into the other side of the room. Simultaneously walking away from the boy.

“Master?”

YunHo turned around and locked his eyes with the boy but said nothing. JaeJoong doesn’t understand why he felt like YunHo wasn’t even seeing him, like the man was seeing past him. There was something on the man’s mind and he just can’t see JaeJoong. It was as if Yunho was in a different dimension and he was still trying to figure things out.

“Master..?” JaeJoong took a step forward in confusion but froze in hurt because YunHo abruptly stepped backward, staring at the boy in a fearful way now. It was as if he can’t bear the thought of having the boy any closer. His eyes were suddenly a little wide and his forehead was creased in the most peculiar way. He’s... He’s scared of me? The revelation crushed JaeJoong heart so much, he doesn’t even struggle to regulate his heavy breathing anymore. Why? Why is Master..? Like he was afraid of me...Like I’ll hurt him. Why?

YunHo’s strange reaction slowly dulled when he realized the boy was softly heaving for breath, wounded eyes dying in front of him because of the man’s ‘rejection’. “I- I'm so sorry. Shhh. It’s- It’s okay JaeJoong. Breathe. Breathe, okay?” It was extremely odd, the way he tried so hard to sooth JaeJoong and yet he seems too petrified to gather JaeJoong in his arms like he usually does. “Just- Just stay there okay JaeJoong? Everything is alright. It’s fine. Just let me think. You breathe, okay. Breathe. Just-”

The man voice was strangely rushed, restrained yet forceful all at the same time. JaeJoong had never heard him like that. Even his normally dark eyes were different now that JaeJoong really, really look into those eyes. They seem lost and full of anguish. His Master seems so tired and worn out. Like the man was caught unawares by something and it panicked him greatly. It doesn’t make sense. His Master was always calm and thoughtful, confident and valiant. Everything was in the man's predicament, he was never caught by surprise. And JaeJoong believed that even if he does, the man would never be bothered about it. That had always been his opinion about his Master. This new somewhat vulnerable side portrayed in front of JaeJoong was therefore, something the boy never thought possible.

But if YunHo was in fact distressed about something, JaeJoong wanted to know what. He needed to know. He can’t bear having his Master denying him like he did before. What affected Master this much? And who’s that Ji Ho guy? As JaeJoong evened his breathing, no longer making even the softest gasping sound, YunHo too drifted into a deep thought. The man’s face slowly contorted into its usual facade as time passed by.

“Master...” JaeJoong tried again after a few minutes, or was it hours, of total silence. His legs were starting to numb for standing so still for so long but the boy make no effort to move. He needed to know that YunHo won’t be upset with him again. “Master?”

YunHo ended his musing and closed his eyes. He breathed in then breathed out twice before opening them and turned his attention back to JaeJoong. Offering the boy a tense yet assuring smile, he called for him near.

JaeJoong’s whole body celebrated the unspoken permission granted to him and the boy staggered forward desperately in relief despite both legs buckling in complaint. Seeing that, YunHo rushed to the boy and caught him in time. He didn’t say anything to JaeJoong nor let JaeJoong go to try and stand on his own though. Instead, the man crushed him inside his embrace, hugging him so tight JaeJoong forgot to breathe again.

YunHo pulled away soon enough only to drop chaste kisses anywhere he could on JaeJoong’s face again and again. He refused to look at JaeJoong’s eyes and the boy couldn’t reason the pure despair and distraction he found in YunHo’s action. It was tormenting him brutally. Was his Master disappointed with him?

“M- Master?”

That soft call managed to steal YunHo’s attention but the man had only stopped his kissing to bury his face into the junction between JaeJoong’s shoulder and neck, hugging JaeJoong tighter.

“Why? Why did you come inside JaeJoong? Why didn’t you stay in your room? It’s not safe. You- You- But it’s okay. It’s okay. Don’t worry. I’ll protect you. I’ll protect you JaeJoong. I’ll protect you. It’s okay.”

And it all made sense then. The boy finally understood. The man was terrified... But he was not scared at JaeJoong. He was scared at what could happen to JaeJoong. He was scared of how much that would affect him. JaeJoong gasped. He doesn't want to touch me because he's not ready yet... Master- Was he afraid that I'll disappear in his arms? In those few seconds of understanding what really went through in his Master’s mind, JaeJoong felt so much emotion he thought he’d burst. He’s afraid of losing me. That was what took YunHo by surprise. The possibility of losing him. Him.

JaeJoong soon found himself shedding tears at the sheer ecstasy he’s allowed to feel. All thanks to this one man’s affection.

“JaeJoong? Don’t cry. Don’t cry. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. Everything will be fine. Nothing would happen to you okay. It’s okay. I won’t let anything-”

To the man’s surprise, JaeJoong actually laughed at his jumbled up words. The boy continued to laugh beautifully and then wiped his own tears with a blinding smile. “It’s okay. I’m not scared. I’m not. See? I’m not scared at all. I have you Master.” He smiled even happier, laughing again. “I love you, I love you, I love you so much.” He confessed dreamily, sighing as YunHo took over the task of wiping the remaining crystal droplets in a daze. “It’s okay. Don’t worry, everything’s okay. Because I love you.”

YunHo crushed his lips into the boy’s soft lips angrily at the boy’s assurance. He doesn’t know what else he could do to calm the alien fear and helplessness he’s feeling at the moment. It’s not okay! How dare JaeJoong laugh? Ji Ho’s threatening me with JaeJoong. He doesn’t understand why the boy doesn’t even show the slightest trace of fear of what could happen to him. That’s not supposed to happen! Even death is not allowed to 'touch' JaeJoong. JaeJoong’s off limit!

Frustrated, the man shoved his tongue forcefully inside JaeJoong’s mouth, uncaring of anything anymore.  He needed to feel the boy, to taste him, to take over him. He needed the boy to fix him; to wash away all those bitter feelings inside of him. He needed to be sure that JaeJoong won’t leave him - because YunHo loves him so very much.

The man had felt so much misery with JiHye's death, he's not going to let himself feel anything like that ever again.

YunHo had always been different. Special, like his late father had always said. He’s not someone who’s capable of loving another human being like any other people could easily do. He doesn’t even care much about his own life. That said, he’s simply not capable of caring about who died and who suffered all around him even if he tried. Sure he’ll feel a bit let down if the few people he’s familiar with and trust like YooChun or HyoRi died but it’s only because he'd lost a useful ‘tool’. It’s always that sentiment. He need to replace them and move on like what other people do when their beloved pet died. In the end, he'll feel absolutely nothing. It was always that way. The man can’t see himself feeling sad or getting attached with anyone at all.

With the exception of his only sister JiHye and now JaeJoong. This intense attachment came naturally to him. He just had to have them. He must protect them in any way. He’d failed JiHye once, he’s not going to fail JaeJoong too. Not JaeJoong, who gave him a ‘heart’.

There were so many things fogging the man's head, he didn't even think of his action. His experienced lips, together with his wandering hands and distressed body acted without any command. The man just kept on kissing JaeJoong, stealing his breath and his essence automatically. MineMineMine!

His sanity and control was gone. There's no way he could hear the boy moaning or gasping under his ministration. There’s no way he could feel the boy shivering and jolting in his hold. He just can't. JaeJoong is his. His forever. His!

That was why even when he let the boy go because they both need to breathe, he'll devour him hungrily the next second. There's a mixture of demanding kisses in between angry bites and soothing licks anywhere that is JaeJoong. His hands were lost in everywhere, rubbing JaeJoong's back at one moment and teasing the boy's nipples or squeezing the boy’s behind at the other. Still, it wasn't enough. He wanted to mould JaeJoong into him so that the boy would always be with him. Oh how much he wanted to break the boy and take his everything and keep JaeJoong inside his very own skin... How he itched to do just that, just to ensure that he'll never lost anything as precious as the boy.

JaeJoong's everything he wanted. The only thing the man ever wanted. He'd finally found someone he's capable of loving; someone who proved that he possessed such emotion in him, even if it’s only for that boy alone. It's okay. He's just going to love JaeJoong and JaeJoong alone.

YunHo's not about to let the boy go ever. Especially because JaeJoong loves him too.

It must have been that reminder that shook YunHo out of his blind rage. The man slowly came to realize how frantic JaeJoong’s body was fighting him. The boy wasn’t ready yet. He pulled away ruefully, safely putting distance between them to allow JaeJoong to calm down. The boy whimpered his protest unknowingly and instinctively closed their distance, his heaving chest now resting against YunHo’s own.

“Mas-ter?” The boy panted for something he doesn’t know what.

YunHo fixed the boy’s loose hair gently. He had truthfully always been ‘rough’ and demanding with his sleeping partners. The man sincerely doubted he could change his way in bed. And if it’s JaeJoong, he knew he can’t control himself at all if he’s allowed to ‘take’ him. Because it’s JaeJoong. He’ll need everything of him. He wanted to have everything. He just had to take everything. It’s not time yet.

YunHo had to make sure he won’t scare the boy. The boy must only love him, never fear him. So for now, he’ll wait until the boy’s body was up for him. He doesn’t mind waiting for JaeJoong. Because the boy is his in the end, JaeJoong would still be his. He smiled down at JaeJoong’s adorable look. “... I love you.” YunHo confessed, murmuring the words against the boy’s sweaty forehead before placing a lingering kiss there. “I love you.” He repeated a little louder, kissing the boy once more.

JaeJoong was dumbfounded with the sudden confession. He stilled then bolted free from the man’s hold. The boy stared into his Master’s amazingly kind eyes with widened orbs. “Say that again. Say that again Master. Say it.” The boy implored huskily in between his steadying breaths, that burning desire from before cooling down by itself and was replaced with a liberating joy.

“... I love you. I won’t hurt you. I love you JaeJoong.”

“I know. I love you too.” The boy breathed then blinked as a random reminder from the past rushed to him in that spur of a moment. “Do you trust me Master? Do you trust me now?” He wanted so very badly to hear a yes. There's no reason. He just need a yes.

YunHo stared into his eyes intently for a long while. JaeJoong doesn’t know if it’s resistance to give in to him or was it hesitance to admit the truth that he saw in YunHo’s dark eyes. The boy just kept his silence because of that, waiting for the man himself to answer.

“Would you leave me?”

“No.”

“... I believe that.” And that answer was more than enough for JaeJoong right now.

"This is interesting." The shorter man smirked, poking the file he dropped on the desk pointedly.

"There's a leak?" Rei's face darkened. Though he had considered that possibility himself, the man didn't really think there’s anyone who dared to cross him. He didn't think anyone would be stupid enough. With brute fingers, he flipped open the file and went through the pages with increasing disbelief and anger.

He was halfway through when he had enough and thrown the file across the room, puffing air accusingly at the only man with him in the room. "What the fuck is this shit JunSu?!"

"... I told you he's bad for business. I guess your way of 'handling' him last time doesn't work that well, huh?"

A/N: This is the third edited version. You got that right. THIRD. The electric went out when I was editing twice so I’ve lost everything since I was just about to save the changes both time. Out of anger and driven by vengeance, I actually wrote and add a lot more than I intended the last time I edit this. There’s still words and sentences I’ve lost though. I’m now physically and mentally exhausted. Chapter 11 will have to wait. Need sleep.
