Steampunk swap parcel
Rah! I got an amazing parcel earlier this week. (Photos on the Robot as I don't have a paid LJ account.) I'm in a group called 'Odd Ducks' on Ravelry, a group for quirky swaps. Three themes a month are opened, there's a month of signups and chitchat, then you get assigned a person to send to (who will probably NOT be the person sending to you), then you have two months to make a parcel tailored to that person's likes and dislikes within the theme. When the steampunk swap came up, I had to sign up.
They're not one of the 'big' items in the parcel, but the things that have given everyone in the house the most amusement are the catnip 'jackalopes' (rabbits with antlers) sent for Boycie. She loves them so much! The Things in Jars are also highly entertaining, just because they're so strange. I might have to get some decorative jars and put rubber spiders and funny-colourted liquid in them for Halloween decorations this year...
