I spent a good part of the afternoon learing about post traumatic stress disorder. It was a really interesting presentation. I work with active duty military people, not veterans. But it was still good information to learn. We watched a movie made by Iraq war combat veteran. Very graphic. More graphic than anything that's on TV. Which I ( Read more... )

Tim is a veteran, and I have been curious about PTSD recently. Last week I startled him and he yelled and swore and freaked out and I could see he was visibly shaken, and it wasn't a normal reaction for him in any way shape or form. Makes me wonder what his years of active duty did to him.

I think I had a lesser form of it after my childbirth experience. :(

I had it after my birth experience too. I had to get to the point where I was remembering the event without actually reliving it. It took quite a while.

I'm sorry about Tim-that must have been scary for you as well

I think it caught him off guard and he even freaked himself out, he was really apologetic and I was in tears. I had never seen him so startled before!!

I am sorry your birth was so bad too. It's such a hard thing to deal with, sometimes.
