Captain Nemo vs. Snape, discuss

I just finished reading a VERY abridged version of 20,000 leagues under the sea to my son--97 pages in large print. Now it's been a few years (12) since I read the non-abridged version. But I can't be the only person to have seen a similarity between Snape and Captain Nemo. Black hair, black eyes, the whole moral-ambiguousness....

Thoughts?

I do see the similarity now. Nemo always did have that little bit of light. Just enough to make you like him. Snape is the same way. I think, to me at least, it made them both that much more likable. A little more reality based anyway.

PS. Can I gank your spank icon? It's for a sick friend who needs a little Sexy Snape... :-)
