things that happened in 2006 that make me glad i didn't kill myself
i figured out what i want to do with my life. i met my future husband (just wait). i finally saw jack's mannequin, not once, but okay technically once, but i heard one concert over the phone a second time. it's just like being there. i went to chicago and ate a chicken with my bare hands. i helped make the tshirts for beach trip 2006. i learned how to knit. i knit meredith a wristband that she wears everytime she sees me cause she knows it makes me happy. i saw "smoky mountain christmas" for the first time. penguins have become part of everyday life. i rode a chairlift at natural bridge. bethany told me her story about "not jumping" at natural bridge. aaaahaha. i got told not to jump off a cliff. i did the sky jumpy bungee thing at king's island. i fell asleep by the wavepool at king's island. i fell asleep by the ocean at isle of palms. i had probably the best birthday ever. i laughed a lot this summer. i was late every day to general meeting this summer. i sang kelly clarkson really loud with becca and all our girls thought we were weird, but they loved us, they couldn't help themselves. i roved every wednesday and thursday even when it was 1843920849302 degrees outside. i made new friends. i found old friends. i climbed the big christmas tree (and touched the star), and introduced 8 (or so) others to the joy. i saw the moon. i hung out with my grandparents. i had the BEST COUSIN WEEK EVER in august with my dearest angela. i met my cousin aidan, who's too cute to be a real baby. i found out that scrabble is probably the most entertaining thing in the entire world. i wrote a 20 page paper (among other things) over thanksgiving break, and still had fun. i made all a's fall semester. and i worked really really hard. i played with my kids. i rode a bike. i was told i can write. and so i wrote. i finished my first complete year reading my utmost for his highest. i watched something corporate live at the ventura. i cooked complete meals by myself. i was told i'm not crazy, just was having irrational thoughts. i got a lavalamp for christmas because my cousin cheryl remembered that in 8th grade i said i wanted one. matt told me that i "can always dry off my pants," and i thought he said "take off my pants," but i was sternly corrected...by a 4 year old. jack taught me the 3 kinds of rocks. i forgot them. i saw rory gilmore in walmart. i bought a pair of rainbows. i climbed both the east and west pinnacle. meredith came and picked me up in asheville for thanksgiving and we met her future husband. i got a new phone that can take pictures. i took a picture of the perfect slushie i made on the night that laurel, jeni and i discovered gas station hot dogs and slushies. i drank 30 cent coffee from the hospital vending room at 2am. i built a lion at mountain day. i watched chronicles of narnia like 700 times. i lived. i didn't give up.
basically, this year was long. but i survived it. and i'm not giving up. and 2007 better watch out.
