Viggo's POV
"Sometimes you have no manners." Viggo scowled at Ian. Orlando had
seemed so uncomfortable and it had looked like he had to force the
food down. Viggo had been so happy when Orlando had shown up and then
Ian made him feel unsure again. The older man starred hard back at
him.
"That boy is extremely thin. And have you seen how he had to fight to
eat that small dish?"
"Maybe he lost his appetite after you harassed him."
"I didn't do that. I just noticed something that worried me!"
"STOP! Both of you. Ian, it wasn't a good move to embarrass that boy,
he is already shy enough. You could have told him all that on a
better occasion, alone. Viggo, he IS too thin and he eats way to
little. I wouldn't be surprised if that green stuff was the first
bite he ate today and that is worrying." Hugo always stayed so damn
calm, cursed elven lord. "We should keep an eye on him."
Now, that was taking it a bit far. The kid was on his first day here
and already Ian and Hugo wanted to keep an eye on him. He opened his
mouth to voice his protest but Hugo left him no choice.
"I know what you want to say, that it's none of our business. BUT
when he breaks down it is. We should all look out for each other. A
year is a very long time and it will be a lot easier if everybody
will not only look out for themselves." Hugo had a good point.
"But maybe not everybody is ok with that. Look, you don't know if it
isn't natural for him to be that thin, it could be his build." He
sighed, not really believing his own words. Orlando had defiantly not
eaten the whole day and he hadn't been there for breakfast. Even if
he had had breakfast in his trailer it still was far too little
food. "Ok, I'm worried, too. I just hope he needs some time to get
settled down."
He saw Bean nodding. "Yeah, just give the poor kid time."
"Show me that he eats normally and I will stop being worried." Ian
was really stubborn.
On his way back home he stopped in front of his trailer door and
looked at Orlando's, lost in his thoughts. What Ian and Hugo had said…
he couldn't ignore how thin the boy was. Yesterday, when he had only
been warring boxers Viggo had seen his ribs… He was so lost in his
thoughts had he only noticed Bean when he started to speak, standing
right behind him, giving him almost an heart-attack.
"Be careful. He's a very shy one. And you don't know if he is
interested in guys. He could withdraw himself completely. I mean he
isn't very close to us yet but we could even lose what we've got.
Don't try to talk your way out of this, I noticed you looking. You're
interested in him."
"What do you think? That I'd just jump his bones? Damn it, right, I'm
attracted to him but that doesn't mean that I will do anything. I've
known him for two days and you think I would already make a move?
What kind of person do you think I am?" Now he was really pissed of
and if Sean wasn't careful… And now that bastard had the nerve to
frown at him.
"You know that wasn't what I meant. I know that you're not a casual
guy. I'm just worried."
"Don't worry, I won't do anything stupid."
"I never expected you to. When time goes by and you're still
interested just make sure you know what to do. Something is wrong
with that boy and it really makes me worry. I didn't want to offend
you, mate."
"Sean, I'm attracted to him, no surprise. But that is all at the
moment and I don't plan to take it any further right now."
Sean smiled at him. "Yeah, he is drop dead gorgeous. And he wakes the
protector in me. Sorry. Sleep well."
"You, too!"
Later as he lay in his bed, his thoughts drifted to Orlando again. He
decided to get to know him better and if his feelings changed he
would deal with it then. Now he would just watch and enjoy. Still, he
was worried. Surely Orlando really just needed to settle down and
then eat normally…. with that thought he fell asleep.
