Movies and TV and a birthday!

On the movie front:

Watchmen will get released. If you missed it, there was some kind of legal battle over the movie between Fox and Warner Brothers but they reached an agreement and it will hit theaters on schedule. And for my fellow Germans that is March, 5th - one day earlier than in the US!
Holy moly for someone who usually has to wait two to six months to be able to see the movies everyone in the US is talking about this is a reason to celebrate. If you are curious: Check out the awesome, awesome trailer!
To the comic geeks on my flist: Should I check out the comic before watching the movie or not? With book adaptions I usually prefer to see the movie first (if I haven't read it already) because in most cases the movie is lacking in comparison.

On the TV front:

moosewizard has put up the video from The Band From TV on Leno. Grunny drumming for his life, Hugh Laurie playing piano (OMG), Jesse Spencer rocking some kind of e-violin, Adrian Pasdar looking pretty and many more. Check it out, it's so much fun.

cadesama got me hooked on Life. Is anybody watching it? I have a new favorite female TV character. Dani Reese rocks my socks.

And finaly: OMG Battlestar Galactica is back.

Well, mostly I'm not very coherent because that was a lot to process. Therefore just a few bullet points:

Dee: She was never one of my favorites but her death was set up and executed well. Ever since her break down on earth, I was waiting for something to happen because she seemed so off kilter with Hera and later with Lee but it was still shocking. And she was not the only one to reach her breaking point; Roslin did or is doing very much the same with quitting her cancer treatment and it will be seen if she finds the strength to continue fighting again.

Adama, of course, dealt with it like a man - means alcohol and guns. Thankfully Tigh set him right again although I'm not quite sure if he didn't try to kill himself at the end too. But what I'm sure of is that I'm so glad to see Adama and Tigh making peace with each other. Their relationship is probably the most existential of the series.
It's funny, back when I started watching BSG Tigh and Ellen were among the characters I did not really connect with at first but how things have changed. Tigh somehow grew into one of my favorites without me noticing.

Overall I have to admit that I'm just utterly confused, though and the fact that I forgot half of what happened in the previous seasons probably doesn't help.

The most confusing thing for me is the time line. Earth was destroyed 2000 years ago, the Final Four (or will we see Ellen again?) remember their life on earth but nothing in between? And Kara - who might bei neither human nor cylon - crash landed and died on earth but when? And holy hell what is Kara? You know that things are messed up, if even Leoben is afraid of her...

There are just a tad too many reincarnations, time warps and doppelgangers for me to handle at the moment.

But that doesn't diminish my enjoyment of the episode, I thought it was fantastic and I'll just hop on board of the roller coaster.

Last but not least: Happy Birthday, my lovely petiii!!
