Being a geek is cool, man!
Well, in about nine hours I will be in a movie theater enjoying Star Wars Episode III.. and get to work at 9:30 tomorrow morning. *_* At least I'll be able to tell people how good the movie is.
At least I have resisted getting a Pregnant Padme action figure. o_O;;;;
I'm also alot more confident in my job, now. I got my review, and earned an "outstanding" so I'm making almost as much as I was back when I worked for MickeyD's, if not more since I work a solid 40-hour work week and get that Sunday shift incentive now. *evil grin* In addition, the other day I was presented with a "good job" pin. Apparently they're highly sought after because four of the little buggers earns a paid day off! Sweet! So that's a major stressor off my shoulders.
And I haven't seen the guy in my friends-only posts since the day after I last posted. I gave him the "civil-but-gotta-go" treatment. It seems he did get the point. Probably wasn't expecting a roly-poly girl like myself to have as much self-confidence as I do. Live and learn.
Creatively, I finished an AMV! Kikyou-centered for a change instead of all the Inu Yasha/Kagome fluff I tend to churn out. I really want to do a Sesshoumaru/Rin video, so that might be next after I take a break.
I've decided I'm going to wait until I have Chapter 4 of "Gather Roses" completely written before I post up both of them for critiquing. Reason being is that both of them have alot of foundation stuff, but nothing incredibly exciting. I've noticed that instead of the rather serial format in which I wrote "Ai no Koinu", I'm really setting "Gather Roses" up like a novel.. or a trilogy of novels. I mean, "Ai no Koinu" is alot easier to get into, I think. But hopefully I string enough interesting stuff in "Gather Roses" to keep people reading if I post it in chunks. It's looking to be a 30-40 chapter piece. Of course, if I reach the staggering word count of Aoi-sama or the incredible number of chapters of Puppy, then I'll really be in trouble. But the storyline isn't going to play out that long. (Even though I already have a side story, because there will be a dangling thread that just won't fit in the story's continuity.)
No more recent work on "Ai no Koinu" chapter 7, unfortunately. :\ I really want to get it done and out of the way, but so many people are expecting something really cool, I need to shrug off my own insecurity and just go for it. That's how I started this, anyway.
Other than that, I am now another year older. *le sigh* Of course, right on the heels of this, I found out my Dad went to the doctor the other day and found out his blood sugar is too high, and it is probably the onset of diabetes. My Grandpa on my mother's side also had diabetes. Even more of a reason to re-start my eating habit changes. I've got a double-whammy genetically, and with my sweet tooth, I don't want to lose the joy of eating sugar. :) (Not to mention all the not-nice medical stuff that comes with it, but I'm trying not to think about that now.)
