Yesterday the Paul Reed Smith band (of PRS Guitars) came to campus. I got to go to the guitar class that he taught on campus. Two of his band mates also joined him for the class, Gary Grainger (bass) and Derek St. Holmes (voice, guitar), who used to play for Ted Nugent. It was really cool. The class only had sixteen students in it and the band just sat up on the desks and chatted with us about music...it was so cool to hear about their experiences as musicians and all the people that they've played with over the years. I even got a picture with the guys afterwords. They were SO nice...it was so much fun.
Thennn, later I went to the concert at Prince Theater, which was awesome. I met up with some of my friends from the SEA and the show rocked. Their drummer was absolutely hilarious and could also sing some serious blues. Needless to say, it was an exciting day for the village of Chestertown, population: three. Haha.
All in all, it was just great to see some live music again and to be surrounded by people who love music. I feel like that part of my life has taken a little vacation, and I really want to get back into it. So if anyone out there is up for going to shows or anything really, let me know, I'm totally in.
