Let me tell you a story. There is this place in the center of campus that is called Martha Washington Square. It connects the dining hall and basically all of the main academic buildings on campus...it is a very busy place, lots of people going through the square all the time.
Today I was walking to my accounting class around 1 o'clock and its pouring rain. I'm carrying my backpack that is loaded with textbooks and i'm sloshing through the puddles with my umbrella. Well despite the fact that Martha Washington Square is completely flat, I slip on the brick path. This is no little stumble and catch yourself slip...in fact, it was not even a fall and land on your butt slip. No, this was an Emily slip...I fell completely to the ground...my feet went to the left, my shoulders to the right, my umbrella flying through the air. RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SQUARE. As I lay there on the ground in my little puddle in the middle of campus with the entire student body watching my idiocy, I was so shocked that i could do nothing but stare up wards toward the sky. It took me a few seconds to register what happened and to notice the full number of witnesses to my blunder. This girl near me yells, "Oh my GOD! ARE YOU OK?!" Yeah...thanks. I staggered to my feet, tried to rub the mud off my soaking wet jeans, and went along my merry way to class.
