CES 2009 & LJ

I glanced at some older entries and I think I'm quite happy that I no longer write about such depressing things...! Anyway, tonight is the last night I sleep in my bed and then off to CES 2009. I don't know if I have internet there (not that I have been easily reachable in the past whatevers since getting the job) but hopefully the forum shops at Caesar's Palace or the arcade in Circus Circus might be fine to do on my own if they let me.

To those who don't know, LJ just laid off a fifth of the staff. When I read it earlier today, I didn't think much of it. Tons of companies are laying off jobs right now to keep themselves afloat. Now when I view my friends list, people are panicking that LJ is going to be doomed, archiving their entries or listing possible places to go to if LJ bombs and this and that. I don't think you guys should worry. LJ is too popular, someone will buy it at some point and keep it running. Either way, they laid off those people so they could afford to stay LJ. While it is a big portion of an already tiny staff, I think since we're being run by the Russian company SUP, they probably don't really need so many expensive American salaried employees.

Anyway, the company let me borrow a laptop, so maybe I will update if I get the chance. I should bring a camera, but I'm not sure where I put it...
