Winter clothes are usually my best... I mean, it'd make sense, seeing how there's more cloth to design with.
I forget about what I've written here sometimes, so I might repeat myself. My scanner driver wasn't compatible with Vista 64 and I don't think anyone is willing to expend effort on porting it over since it's not a popular scanner, so I'm thinking of buying a new one on Black Friday. This particular one was bought two years ago on Black Friday for like 35 bucks. It's time is up!! Speaking of which, I do have Friday off, and my brother's friends want to invite me to laser tag.
"My brother's friends" and "invite me"... that sounds a little strange doesn't it? Well, my brother, Charles, or Charlie as our family would like to call him, has a lot of friends he met at school that enjoy much of the same games he does-- Warcraft III, Starcraft, Counter Strike, etc, etc... so they hang out often online, playing these games together, chatting over Ventrilo, and things like that. Each time they come to our house, they bring their PCs to have a LAN, and they always find out that I play some games too, just never get the chance to join them.
Two weeks or so ago, my brother signed me up to be a chaperone at one of his school-held LAN parties, and I agreed. The girls in his group never really came over to our house to sleep over, since they would always think "well, it's full of boys!" and one of them has some rather strict and clingy parents, so I had never even met her. They got excited to meet me, so they all went to the LAN party last Saturday. The event actually lasted both days of the weekend, but I had set up a cosplay photoshoot with Elizabeth on Sunday for Reimu (and also am still sick from not wearing enough and being outside in the cold)...
I had brought my PC, just like everyone else, and set it up. I shared the specs when they asked, and I think I had probably the best PC between his friends overall. The internet wasn't working for my PC, so I loaded up Touhou, which one of his friends actually knew and loved. He said he posted on Pooshlmer, and I said I used to post pretty frequently on /jp/, and he was like, "Did you know Pooshlmer hates /jp/?" "Yeah. And vice versa, but I honestly don't care about those kinds of things since I don't care where I get Touhou from, I love Touhou more than worrying about those kinds of things." He saw that I was using my controller to play Touhou, and wanted to play with me since I said I had all the games with me. (I found out yesterday my Shoot the Bullet was missing... I think I must have deleted it when I still had my old PC to have space since it was so hard, but I have plenty of space now!) He left, and came back with a controller pad. I think he called up one of his parents to bring it.
We tried to get Immaterial and Missing Power to work since he said he was pretty good at it, but the game wouldn't pick up my second controller. We switched to Phantasmagoria of Flower View. It worked! He was pretty good at it, but I think I was only slightly better... otherwise we were pretty even. I didn't say it, but I was thinking that it's good that I'm able to match up because I haven't played in a long, long while.
Each time the battle got good or close, we'd be laughing, yelling, things like that. My brother and his friends would always look over and be like wtf how are they having so much fun sort of response, but they would come over and be like "WOOOW how can you even pay attention to where you are!!" His friends know that the guy playing with me was a huge Touhou fan, so when they walked over and saw it was Touhou, they did what most of my friends do to me, a "OH YOU!!!!"
One of my brother's friends name is Alice, so when I would say "I LOVE ALICE" she'd look over and she'd know it was for Touhou, but it's still funny. After we played Scarlet Weather Rhapsody (after PoFV) they asked me to play Left 4 Dead. I don't own the game, but they let me borrow a rental account. I signed into it on my PC and tried to get it working, but somehow the internet there really hated me, so I physically moved to another person's PC. My in-game name was "Alice" and Alice thought it was funny to change hers to "Miluda <3" so I added a little "<3" at the end of my username. During the game, my brother or the fourth person would be like "ALICE MOVE OVER HERE" and well, I wouldn't move, thinking they were talking to the actual Alice, and they would be like "ALICE NO." and stuff. Finally, I started listening to them calling me Alice, but then the real Alice would also do the same things, it was rather amusing. Later the last person dropped out or something, so someone else joined in, thinking I was Alice and saying that she had improved her game. Hehe. It was very fun, and if this game is on a great sale, I might consider buying it early on Black Friday. Other than that, it was pretty much like your ordinary LAN party. I guess after that, his friends wanted to hang out with me, so now I've got a laser tag game with some high school kids. Ah, it makes me feel so old.
I like how they said I'm like my brother, but it's reality, it's more like he is like me. I introduced him to a lot of video games and things like that, even Left 4 Dead most recently.
One last thing.
In Feburary these are mine. ♥ ♥ ♥
I also took a Japanese Touhou character sorting thing that tells me who I like the most of the characters I know, and it gave me some results that are somewhat accurate. I guess I could post that another time, but I think only the Touhou fans would be interested in seeing it.
