Okay, it's not the strongest, but it matched my Cirno icon. It's pretty high-end, but not the best you can get out there. This'll definitely last me a good 5 years, I do hope! It's an Acer branded system! Here are my specs in a lazy image:
ALL MY DRIVES HAVE NAMES THAT LOOK LIKE FACES. C:!!!! D:!? T:!!!! E:!!
Previous specs:
P4 2.6Ghz (purchased as Celeron 2.7), 1GB (purchased as 512MB) RAM, GeForce 5500 (died half a year ago) which was replaced by Radeon 9600.
According to Windows Experience Index Rating, it's a 5.9.
After it had arrived in the mail-- well, more like after I had picked it up from the UPS office, I immediately did nothing! I had no time. Finally, when I got the time to fiddle with it, I turned it on, installed the OS... installed a few progs, then turned it back off to leave it sitting for another few days. Then when I found more time, I opened up the case, and added a new HD, a DVD-ROM... and boy, I can sure tell you that thing is squished...! Wires everywhere. Thank you, Acer. Still, it was worth the price I paid for and I ended up being able to get my stuff in. Turned it back on, formatted the new drive, set it over the network, turned my old PC on, and I let the transferring times roll! Well, it wasn't as smooth as that, I kept running into issues (that suspiciously made me think Vista is trying to block certain content from being shared due to copyright issues) but I started the file transfers from my XP PC and it stopped complaining. Next thing I found out is that my webcam wasn't supported by Vista 64, but I downloaded the XP 64 driver and it worked just as well.
Games look beautiful on this thing. It's not like I am one to complain about graphics (I have been playing games on a GeForce 5500 to Radeon 9600 until I upgraded) so it's just fine for me. Plays all of today's games. I don't need max settings.
My PSX to Parallel converter doesn't work anymore, and I don't think anyone is willing to write an updated driver for it, so I'm probably going to purchase a PSX to USB converter instead. What else... oh yes. There's a drive missing from that picture (Okay, it's also missing my removable drives) and it's my external drive... that includes all my Touhou crud sans pictures. If I wasn't tech savvy at all, I would be freaking out. I mean, my scores! My animation series! My other games! My Touhou music! It ended up being the A/C switching adapter broke... and they cost like a good $20+ to replace especially since Western Digital did the stupid thing of using a brand that isn't sold anywhere else but eBay...! Oh well. If I don't want to spend that 25 bucks or so, then that means I should pop open the external case and put it in a new enclosure... which probably costs around the same price itself. Warranty has long been gone, so. I'll think of something. I ... want my Touhou games, you know... ah well, I don't have the time to play them right now. I mean, look how long it took me to set up this PC...
I'm also considering to buy a new LCD screen, and since all my stuff is branded Acer, I might as well get an Acer LCD. It's cheap and the quality isn't too bad. I already have one in mind.
tl;dr: I'M FUNDING MY OBSESSION FOR ALL THINGS ALICE and if this sounded rambly i'm super duper tired eheee
Edit: The 9800GT comes with 512MB on board. The rest of that is shared from my 8GB.
