The Zoanthrope Project.

Dec 19, 2009 18:00

I'm making a stuffed zoanthrope.
It's body is about 16" long, white with red accents.
Not sure that I was actually going for "cute" with this, at least it wont be this:

I pray that anyone who sees this who actually plays 40k is not horribly mislead into thinking that I use science to make things and knows that my sewing skills are kind of...jank. :|

This is a zoanthrope (if you don't know):

Ah winter holiday. I knew you were good for something.

I don't have many early pics. :| Sort of wish I did.
(12/19)
Legs attached to stabby bits, full leg attached, two more to go. XD Still no head...

Better body pic for size. The other two legs are cut and ready to be sewn.

NOTE:
I'm really happy because I figured out how to make the brain. I've got some pink fabric, if I make the brain out of that because the body is fleece I can cut holes in it and not worry about fraying or anything. :D Yay!

Today's update is with more legs. Still no head though. :| (12/20)

Stabby stabby leg parts.

UPDATE ON THE ZOANTHROPE! (12/21)
Head has been started! Plates are going on! Man I wish I hadn't attached those legs so early!
LOOK AT THOSE LEGS, IT JUST WANTS A HUG!

UPDATE TIME! (12/23)
I didn't rotate these. Whoops. :<
Body is mostly complete. Finishing the head next. :)

UPDATE! (12/24)
Got the pieces for the head cut out and everything pinned.
I'm almost totally out of the correct red fabric so these are backed with a darker red. Whoops. It's not a lot darker, but it's a little heavier, I think it actually helped with keeping the form of the plates. :) Merry Christmas everyone!
