It is because of experiences such as these that I am going to Queens
April 30, 8:05 am: Walter Light Hall - While providing
access to the building for some contractors, the Security Supervisor
encountered an individual passed out on the front steps. He was woken
up by Security and together they tried to locate his shoes - however
the individual became argumentative, and then urinated between two
buildings while facing traffic, so Kingston City Police were contacted
to attend. They met up soon afterwards and it was revealed the
individual was a Queen's student reported missing an hour earlier - KPD
subsequently transported him home.
April 1, 3:58 am: Watts Hall
- The ERC received a call reporting an individual was spotted climbing
the outside of the Residence. Security attended and observed the
individual about two thirds of the way up the building without safety
equipment, wearing sandals, and carrying a rope. When instructed to
come back down he indicated it was easier/safer for him to continue
moving upward and stated he would remain on the roof for Security to
meet with him.
However after reaching the roof he immediately
descended the building on another side and ran off. Security staff
pursued the individual and detained him a short distance away. He
initially stated not having ID and refused to identify himself until a
call was placed for City Police to attend. At that point he confirmed
he was a student and spoke briefly to Police when they arrived. He was
warned they could press criminal charges against him for the incident
but it was decided the issue would be dealt with internally.
Appropriate Departments were informed of the matter and details
provided to AMS Judicial for review.
April 25, 9:15 am: Residences
- Sodexho staff reported an expensive waffle iron had been stolen from
a dining hall area at about 8:00 that morning. The theft was witnessed
by someone who described the perpetrator only as being "tall with big
hair". The witness had already left the scene by the time Security was
informed and their contact information wasn't recorded. Sodexho staff
report they would continue to investigate the theft.
April 25, 5:00 pm: Campus
- A delivery truck driver attended the Security office to report an
encounter with a student at a Union Street intersection. The man stated
he'd been stopped at the intersection when he heard a male student -
who was wearing headphones and dancing - walk into the side of his van.
The driver confirmed no damage was caused to the vehicle and the
student told him he was uninjured but couldn't wait around as he was on
his way to meet his girlfriend.
April 3, 4:06 am: Campus
- The ERC received a call from an individual who reported discovering
an unknown male asleep in her parked car. The Security Supervisor and a
Patrol attended, arriving to find City Police on scene and the male
individual in handcuffs. The Officer reported the male had been
uncooperative and he was transported to Police Headquarters to confirm
his ID. The individual was later confirmed to be a Queen's student.
April 8, 4:10 am: Leggett Hall
- A student contacted the ERC to file a noise complaint for a black SUV
parked outside Leggett Hall playing loud music for the past half an
hour. The Security Supervisor attended and spoke to the vehicle owner
who was dressed in a big fluffy orange rabbit suit.
April 2, 1:00 am: Clark Hall
- Pub staff contacted the ERC to request assistance with a patron who
had smashed a beer bottle over his own head. Security Supervisors and
Queen's First Aid attended, but were informed the individual had left
the Pub before their arrival . Pub staff report the individual was a
member of the military, not a Queen's student.
Good luck Rach! Everything will be worked out. If not you can become a
billion gazillionaire (which, i don't think is too shabby a deal.)
Today was everyone's honorary birthday. Rachel, Tanya, Alex and Justine
had their lockers decorated and after school we all had cake in
celebration. Althouhg there were mix ups with lockers (i'm still really
sorry about that) I think everyone appreciated it.
Today was also the last day of classes at Carter. I cried once because
of Ms Grace. Other than that it was a pretty abnormal day (abnormal
because no day at Carter is actually "normal").
The chem ISP was amazing. Dan Bouchard is my hero and Queens' Buddy number 5. Props to Courtney and Jacob.
