Today was good. Gregg took me out to the shooting range gave me Handgun 101. It felt good to have my mom's gun in my hands. I just wish she could have been here to see my targets. She certainly would have been proud. My first set of rounds were okay, got most of the shots in the black. Then we upgraded to the silhouette target, which is what you are generally tested on in order to fire for the government. My first set gave me a score of about 65-70 (I don't remember exactly) which was pretty good for my first day. Then I shot (no pun intended) up to the 90-95 range on the next few. Note that you must score at least 100 to qualify for the government. That kind of scares me! After that we stopped counting. I hit the bulls-eye twice in a row, WOO HOO, and the head five times in a single set. I was quite proud of myself (and I never say that!).

Tracy and I are meeting today. This will be the first time in over a year, and on a positive note. It is sad to see it takes a tragedy to mend the fences sometimes. I am excited to find out what has been going on, and reliving all the memories we shared together. There will certainly be many about my mom, the three of us had so much fun together.

Side note, I LOVE my mug, it is absolutely glorious.
