Photoshop and Vidding
I don't want to say that I'm planning on doing a 'Photoshop uses in vidding' panel at next year's VVC, because there's the matter of attending VVC, suggesting the panel and getting the panel approved and etc. Too many things up in the air at the moment. But...
Last year in Calls From the Public, someone suggested/requested a tech panel that had to do with the use of photoshop as a vidding tool/supplement and I volunteered. I'd still very much like to do it, as photoshop is something I've used a lot (in various ways) in my vids and I like to use Photoshop itself. I've also noticed that things that seemed obvious to me are not to others, because my natural tendency is to explore a lot and try every thing until it explodes in my face. When things don't go explody (and sometimes when they do), I learn things, which I then use in my vids/fanart. This panel would be the opportunity for me to share those things with others (I'm not greedy, I won't be all 'MINE' on how I did an effect or titles or whatever. Ask and I'll tell you).
But there are a lot of things I don't know about photoshop itself and premiere too and I'm planning to take the next couple of months to explore both in terms of how they can work together (and complement each other), reguardless of if I do the panel or not - although, I'd very much like to. If I don't do the panel, I'm planning to post a series of tutorials instead (which I'll most likely do anyway, but if I do the panel it'll be after I do them and they'll be panel-specific).
However, I don't have an endless amount of time on my hands - which is why I'm asking this early in the game - and I'd like for you (I'll start with my flist, if I do the panel I'll move on to bigger waters) to point out specific things you'd like to know. Certain effects you've seen me use? How to use Photoshop for titles? How to use it for coloring? Should I spend time explaining the key features of photoshop or is that not necessay? Etc.
