Notes
Few, but still.
1) This is a ClubVivid premiere, as in, Vividcon, as in, what the HELL am I doing? I decided that getting my foot through the door with a CVV vid was less risky than premieres or the vidshows, because while people still watched the vids, they had the distractions of dancing and alcohol. So this was my second con, after Escapade last spring.
2) Editing: This vid probably has the least effects of any vids I've made in the last few months (at this rate, I'd even say years) apart from Hallelujah, so I had to make sure the editing was enough to drive the vid efficiently. And in this, I was very much inspired by Mainstream by
charmax, which I was and still am so very impressed with.
3) Scene choice: From the moment I chose to make this a Syd vid (because I picked the song before knowing what to do with it), I knew I didn't want it to be just a 'Sydney kicks ass' vid (even though there's a lot of that, because it's just a part of who she is), but that I also wanted to explore Syd's entire backstory with Rambaldi, her parents and Vaughn. And the more I looked at the song, the more it seemed perfect for that. All in all, the vid sort of made itself, the only torture was the fact that I was so outside my comfort zone and had so little time to do it.
4) Song: This is probably the fastest-paced song I've ever done... I don't know exactly why, but I tend to stick to slower songs. And it was also the first time I vidded a pop/radio hit song. I realized doing this vid that I should give those types of song at least a thought and not be so damn serious all the time. Because ultimately, this was such a fun vid.
The first con report came out and this vid was mentionned in the list of ClubVivid vids jic took notice of, which makes me happy beyond words
