i <3 tubrulle
after seven years of looking, i finally have tube keys. it only took my friend about two seconds to find them after i told her to keep an eye open. i'd browsed that particular kitchen appliance section several times already... not to mention the numerous shops & boutiques during my searhing years. they're nicer than i ever imagined i would get. i did buy a fancy, expensive, designer tube key fish a year ago, but it was too narrow to fit my tubes of choice. just my luck, too.
funny how things like simple tube keys make a certain type of person very happy.
i slept for 12 hours last night. i sort of woke up twice, to get undressed and under covers at midnight, and to remove a vomiting cat from the bed in the early hours. one of the first things i realized once i finally emerged from the bed was that i had totally forgotten about wednesday's dirty projectors gig at dynamo. oh well. it's not like i would've been able to stay up late & awake anyway. working 12 days in a row is bliss on pay day, but it is rather exhausting, too. and very bad for housekeeping... i tend to be sloppy, but now it's just out of control. i managed to wash a kettle to boil rice in, but stirred my cookings with the handle end of a dirty spatula...
my new shoes have one major flaw for a winter boot, they're slippery as ...well, the f-word, frankly. i guess those candy-assed shoe designers never have to walk anywhere in lousy weather. i need to rough the soles up a bit, but feel kind of bad about it, because they have pretty little flowers on them. i gave the boots three coatings of fish-killing, tree-rotting spray to make them waterproof and feel like a traitor. money has totally corrupted me. everything has to be so bloody easy these days.
it's snowing beautiful, slow flakes.
i wish it wouldn't melt away.
