Streetlight Manifesto kicks my ass. The concert was on Friday night and it was amazing. The Stitch-Up (an MU330 project) was pretty entertaining, even asking a random guitar player from the audience to volunteer and play guitar for one song. It was pretty cool. Suburban Legends went up next and they were just as cool as the last time we saw them. They were on a much smaller stage, but they still did the choreography and had just as much energy. It was honestly pretty impressive, even though I think choreography is a silly gimmick. And then...and then Streetlight Manifesto played. And the world all stood still, except for The Launchpad which was whirling in an incoherent swirl of pure energy and excitement. It was everything (almost) that I was hoping it would be. I just wish they could have played longer and thrown a few more songs in, but the songs that they did play were awesome. They even played a couple of BOTAR songs (which Bekah and I got to kinda-slow-dance to) and played their infamous Point-Keasby Nights-Counterpoint piece that they are so well known for, and I have aching to see performed. Again, my only complaint was that they didn't play more songs...like...all of them.

The next night Nida and Jay came into town. We met up with Steen at Satellite and had some coffee and talked about computers, visual design, and life for a couple of hours, and then went to the mall and met with Mzy. After all that, Bekah, Ryuichi, Nida, Jay and I all went to a Vertigo Venus/Diverj/Chemlab show that was very fun. I think it was Diverj's best show that I've seen, so I was happy, and Vertigo Venus put on a good show to follow it up. We didn't stay for Chemlab of anything else because it was already after midnight and we had work in a few hours. While we were there we almost got into a bar fight with some tranny-looking thing and her friends. She kept bumping into Nida and Jay while dancing, so Jay pushed her back, and she whirled around and shoved him and made a whole bunch of threats, then left. It came so close that Jay went to use the restroom, and one of her guy friends went in after, and Ryuichi and I had the rush over there to make sure nothing started. Luckily it didn't, and they left us alone, and when Bekah and I left we saw her drunk ass trying to get into a cab, and her guy friend getting very frustrated with her and her alcohol level. So everything ended up fine, and the show as a whole was awesome.

Tonight Bekah and I (and maybe Jed, but not likely) are going to the Botanical Gardens to see the light show. They have an ice rink that is free of charge to skate on once you're there, but you have to have your own skates, so we can't do that. But the light show should be fun all on its own.

Nothing much else to report. Things are going pretty well, and I like it that way. And that's that.
