Hel is settled in "her" chair, sewing on a pair of dark blue gloves. She's at the embroidery portion of these as well. The different colored flosses have been separated out, and now and then she asks Svava to separate out a specific strand for her. Its easier that way than if she does it for herself ( Read more... )

".... And another realm of being skinned alive." Svava eyes the book.

"That's been quite a common theme for punishment in these sorts of places." 'Hells', but its off to think of them being named after Hel.

She raises a brow, thinking.

"Hells."

She actually says the word, sounding highly amused,

"At least I will be remembered? How can they be skinned alive if they are dead? And besides, after about sixty percent Men die of shock."

"Dead, yes- but then existing like the einherjar, or in other places. They still think, they still feel- and that would be very real to them." Svava tilts her head, considering.

"Its not so much 'alive' as still feeling and aware of it, even if they were just souls-with-form."

"That makes more sense. Do you suppose that the soul would be able to pass out from the shock, or not?"

She's got a fairly large contingent of rapists, murderers, etc. who did not have the chance to die in battle. Hel is contemplating trying this on newly-dead people she doesn't like.

A red silk bag with gold tassle that smells faintly of sweetness and the oven is presented to both beings.

"Happy St. Nicholas' Day."

Svava looks up- and smiles at him.

"Nick. For your namesake, then?" She chuckles, taking the bag.

"Hel- this is a friend of mine here. Nick, this is Hel, also from the Nine Worlds."

"Thank you."

She takes the bag and blinks at both it and the gifter thereof.

"Greetings, Nick."

He smiles and nods to her.

"A pleasure to meet you, Mistress Hel. And good to see you, Svava."

He gives a bow to them both, putting the sack down for a moment.

"And yes, for the namesake. I'm...not the finest Christian, but I'll keep my Saint's day."

Archie spots the two ladies over by the fire and heads over, settling down in the next chair, grinning at them. He's just happy they're getting along.

Hel just nods while Svava reads.

Reading, at least until she gets to the end of one section, then she smiles at Archie. (Obviously, it was not the section of egyptian afterlives and the preparation for.)

"Archie- good evening."

"Hello Hel, sweetest, it is good to see you both enjoying yourselves."

It really, really is, and he's still smiling. He eyes the book.

"I assume that I shouldn't order any spaghetti for us all, but do either of you want anything other than that?"
