Sheemie is downstairs, with the kitten on his shoulder.

The call is stronger than it was yesterday, so much stronger, and the song grows louder by the hour.

And he knows.

They go today.

Antigone had managed it before the end, in her own way-- saying goodbye. She doesn't know, not really, that this is the last she'll see of Sheemie, but she does want to speak to him while she can.

"Hello," she says.

The kitten is gone, now.

"Long days and pleasant nights, sai Antigone."

She offers a smile, which is something of an effort.

"How are you?"

[pink_sombrera]

"Well enough." He looks at her carefully. "Would'ee sit?"

Antigone nods, and drops into a chair. She's looking back at him, trying not to fidget with her clothes.

"Thank you for the seeds," she says after a moment.

[pink_sombrera]

"Ye're welcome." He has no idea how to break the news.

She has even less of one about what she should say next, and it's a long moment of not-fidgeting before she finds words.

"Have you ... talked to them? Susan and the rest?"

"We've spoken, aye. And... the call is... strong, now."

[buriedmybrother]

She doesn't have to ask him what he means.

"Oh."

[pink_sombrera]

"Aye. It'll be soon."

[buriedmybrother]

"Do you know when?"

[pink_sombrera]

"Tonight. Most like."

[buriedmybrother]

Antigone bites her lip.

"Oh."

[pink_sombrera]

"Say sorry."

[buriedmybrother]

There's a hesitation of just a second before she shakes her head.

"No. No, you shouldn't be."

[pink_sombrera]

He looks up with a small grateful smile.

"Thankee-sai."
