Gilbert Blythe, in the bar, ignoring his book (Virgil), but actually paying attention to the world around him.

He seems to be in a good mood. Or at least a better mood than he has been.

Of course, appearances can be deceiving.

Only one way to find out.

Have at.

It doesn't make any sense for Anne to be nervous about approaching Gilbert, so when she comes down the stairs for tea, with an armful of books of her own, she shakes her head slightly, and walks over with a cheerful smile.

"Good morning, Gil! Mind some company?"

"I never mind your company, Anne," he says, standing up to pull a chair out for her.

Anne smiles at him, and sits, smoothing her skirts.

"Always so charming," she teases. "Thank you, Gil. I see you've found our old friend Virgil, as well, have you?"

She pulls out her own Virgil and stacks it atop her other books. "I don't suppose you've made any headway with it?"

"That depends, I think, on how you define headway. I consider it excellent headway to have gotten the book off the shelf."

He grins.

"Shall I go for tea, so that we have an excuse to ignore Virgil?"

Helen's doing a pretty good job of covering her worriedness about Guppy. Distraction is always helpful for that, so she heads over to visit Gilbert. "Good Afternoon, Gilbert."

(ooc--slowtime is love!)

Helen smiles. "That would be lovely, Gilbert." She nods. "How are you today?"

"I'm well," he says. "Perhaps not being as studious as I should, but . . ." He grins.

"I think I might like a cup of tea. May I bring you one, Helen?"
