He smiles at her. he has seen things which might even make her blanch in his time, not that he would tell about it., That's part of his other life, as Captain Marvel. But he's a thirteen year old who lives in a world of angels, demons, aliens, gods, and even undead.
"Pardon me for asking, Ma'am, but are you okay? You're looking and sounding kinda quiet."
Billy's voice is quiet. He isnt sure why, except she feels quiet-ish.
At the words, his face pales slightly. Hell echoes in his mind like a bell that is deep and dark and the memory of being inside a demon, soul split rushes into his mind.
He breathes faster and ahakes his head hard, shoving loose the memories, even as he realizes what she said wasnt what he thought and he gets a confused look on his face.
"You're Hell? I dont understand. It's a place, I thought."
Yeah, Billy? Knows somethings very well, but nothing about most things Norse.
"I dont think I have ever heard of Niflheim. Sorry, Ma'am. And I am not certain but I think the Hell I was talking about was a different one. But... I could be wrong. School and I dont agree too well."
He fishes around for somthing to say. His eyes falls on the straw sticking out of his pocket and he smiles.
She says again, gloved hand touching the hidden side of her face.
"I am sorry to hear that the gates did not keep the dead from your world. I suppose you are from after Ragnarok. Otherwise Garm would have kept the dead in."
"I dont know. An angel had been confined into Hell and managed to possess the Wrath of the God of the Hebrews. With that power, he froze hell, sending out all the demons to Earth."
The telling of it shakes him. It isnt a tale he wants to remember. He wishes for once he was like most others, who forgot, and not Gods-touched.
"What kinda of place is it? I mean, obviously it can't be too pleasant, but.. if it doesnt bother you, can you tell me about it? If it does, then nevermind."
He smiles and waves. He has been trying to make more friends here lately.
"Hello."

She murmurs, face still half turned away.

She's the goddess of the unworthy dead. She is a thing to make other gods blanch.

"I'm glad you're okay. Sometimes I talk too much."
He shrugs it away.
"I'm Billy. Billy Batson. Are you visiting here or bound, if may ask?"

She says quietly, face still averted.
"I am Hel."

She agrees, and after a pause,
"They re-named Niflheim after me. I come from before it was a place."

About once a decade or so, and Jason fed her yesterday.
"The place of damned and doomed souls is what Niflheim is. I am its goddess."

he smiles wryly and shudders inside.
"It's told about in school, and it has come to earth a few times. There was almost a hellwar a year ago."
And that provokes the biggest shudder of all from him.

She says, staring off into the distance with the visible side of her face still and pained,
"The dead come, and eventually they start to get stupid. And I'm there. The rivers run with poison. There is no color."
