There is a Christopher.

He is wearing a Very Impressive silk dressing gown and has just come through the door. This one is the color of rubies, and it's got golden dragons that glisten when the light hits them.

Feel free to admire it.

Raven tilts his head, attention caught by the glistening dragons.

"Your robe is quite impressive, really. Are you equally so?"

Not very many things are as impressive as Christopher Chant's dressing gowns.

"I'm going to be the next Chrestomanci," he says.

[creator_raven]

"I am sure that is quite a wonderful thing. I do not know what it means, however. I do not think I have been to your world, perhaps. Or I have forgotten."

Raven shrugs.

[krestohmansee]

"I'm from Twelve A," Christopher says, "and the Chrestomanci controls the worlds' magic." He shrugs. "If I had a choice, I would be playing cricket instead."

[creator_raven]

"Seeing as magic is involved, you would probably have a happier life, yes. And perhaps also a longer one. It is difficult to say."

A pause.

"They call me Raven."

[krestohmansee]

"Oh, I've got nine lives," Christopher says airily. "Or did, anyway." He's not very good at keeping them.

"I'm Christopher Chant."

[creator_raven]

"I hope we prove well met, Christopher."

He tilts his head.

"Nine lives is not really that many. It is best to be careful, regardless."

[krestohmansee]

"I only have a couple left anyway," Christopher says. Not careful at all.

[creator_raven]

"Well, death will be an interesting adventure for you, then. And soon, perhaps."

He smiles.

[krestohmansee]

"I don't want to die again," Christopher says. "Gabriel is cross enough with me already."

[creator_raven]

"It should be less a matter of others being cross with you, and more a matter of innate caution, perhaps. But you are young."

There is the suggestion of an eye-roll. But only a suggestion.

Christopher comes very close to making a face.

"It is hard to keep them when people keep throwing spears at me and hitting me with things." Of course, there was the time he tripped over a cat and broke his neck, but he doesn't bring it up right now.

"Learn to dodge better. Many people manage not to die several times in one life."

[krestohmansee]

"I was spirit traveling at the time," Christopher says. "It's a bit difficult to avoid the Arm of Asheth."
