A rare evening out

Aug 18, 2004 20:12

*Mary Poppins appears in the bar. She doesn't get many evenings off - she doesn't often need them. But with little Ingress away, and Millie and Wade with their mother, she has decided to see what this Milliways is all about.

Mary may be a governess par excellence, but she is not dead.

She walks up to the bar. This is something with which she has not had experience for a long time , but she is always game for a lark.*

Good evening. I'd like a spoonful of sugar... and a small glass of absinthe, if you please.

*She smiles and waits for her drink. Perhaps she'll get snockered tonight. Why not? One can't be prim and proper every moment of one's life.*
