Hullo, Tere. That's a nice song.

Hello and thank you, Tonks dear. I'm rather partial to it myself. The bar's so quiet tonight, I could hear it from home, so I figured tonight would be a good night to work on my cabaret act. I'm willing to take requests, I just...needed some time to really sing.

Yeah, you need that, sometimes.

Where's home, then?

Pieria, Olympus, Greece. Mostly anyway. I travel a lot for work, have to be where the music is, but home is Pieria with my sisters.

Oh, of course, that makes sense.

Your sisters -- are those the other muses? Sapho, of course, and I seem to remember Clio and Polyhymnia. I've forgotten the others, though.

Sappho and Kalos are my baby siblings. Then I have eight "original muse" sisters. Calliope "Callie", Clio "Cly", Polyhymnia "Nia", Terpsichore "Sica", Urania "Rania", Thalia "Lia", Melpomene "Mel", and Erato "Rat". It's a hell of a family, and I don't know what Mum and Dad were on when they named us, but I love 'em.

*grumbles* Sounds like my mum named 'em.

How've you been keeping lately?

Oh, generally musical.

*She winks*

There was some nastiness with Morpheus, oh, a week or so back, and I still don't have a man, which is depressing, but I'll keep traveling along, singing my song...

Morpheus? Is he the dream fellow? I've never met him, just heard things. What was the problem?

He was sad. I hate to see people sad, so I started spending time with him. He told me some of his troubles and I offered to be his friend, which lasted about two days before he decided that I was really after his body, what rot, and slapped me around a bit, a lovely conversation that ended with something to the effect of You're only a muse. The Endless are way out of your league and could swat you like a bug if they even took the time to notice you, which they don't. So if you don't want to commit suicide, stay away. Thus ends my friendship with Morpheus. Bastard

*furrows her brow angril* He did what? Bastard, indeed...you're well out of it, Tere. Not worth your time.

I take it you're a bit unlucky in love.

A bit...or a lot, depending on how you look at it. My sisters have all had children, I have none. I cannot seem to hold a man's attention. But, such is life. And at least I have music.

And you, Tonks, or do you prefer Dora?, how is your handsome dragon wrangler?

Oh, I'm sorry, Tere. But the music does make you very happy, which is what's most important.

*grins* Charlie's great, thanks. He had a very good interview at the Ministry of Magic yesterday, in the dragon department. Hopefully he'll get the job.

You can call me anything you like, Tere. Usually I'm very firm on "Tonks," but I won't mind if you want to call me Dora. More and more people are, these days, it seems.

The music makes me very happy, Dora.

And Charlie certainly has my best wishes for getting that post. It'd be lovely if he were around a bit more.

*blushes slightly* Yes, it would. I've grown...rather fond of him, very quickly. I'd hate to see him go back to Romania now.

Zeus, yes! It would be tragic, and you would mope, and then what would we do? Dora without a smile is like a sour note on a piccolo, a horrible waste of something lovely...
