A man stumbles in, hat tipped low and eyes a little bleary. There's a bottle in his hand, half-filled with a clear liquid. If he's familiar looking, well...

Oh my, was that a flash of yellow in those blue eyes? It very well might have been...

"Where'm I?"

Alex is in his booth. Sees said familiar-looking newcomer, and...

Oh, fuck.

The drunk stumbles, very nearly falling over except for a touch of flight holding him up till he can regain his balance. He feels a gaze on him, though, and meets eyes as well as he can with the person staring. Sauntering (read stumbling) over, he plops into the booth.

"Why hello, friend. See something you like or just laughing at me?"

This seems to be a common conversation with Nick. Fuck.

"Not laughing. I just thought you were someone else for a moment."

He picks up his tea and sips, trying to stay calm.

The drunk smiles at Alex, bleary blue eyes interested with a lazy smile to match.

"Anyone of interest then? Anyone you like or someone you're lookin' to avoid, friend?"

An easy, elegant shrug.

"I don't know him all that well, to be honest, just thought you were him for a moment. Not that company isn't welcome."

He smiles.

"You lookin' for company, sir? Lonely, are you? I'm prett lonely. Had a friend earlier, but I seem to have stumbled away from him for the night."

Okay, keeping Nick out of trouble is a good thing. Which possibly means no more alcohol.

"Like I said, company's always welcome. Tonight's been a bit slow. And loneliness is never fun."

"No, it's not."

He grins, eyes hungry and just sharp enough to show that he's not entirely lost to drink.

"What kinda company you looking for, friend?"

He smiles.

"I'm pretty happy with the company I've got right now."

"You talking about me or someone else, friend? Cause if it's me, I could say the same."

He looks around.

"This place looks like a bar or summat. Mind if I buy you a round, on me?"

"You are the only person sitting with me, unless you can see someone I can't."

He grins and shrugs. "If you want to, sure. Just tell the Bar what you'd like and she'll get it for you."

He blinks, nods with a bit of confusion, and then looks to Alex.

"What you want? All tastes the same to me. I've already got my bottle, thanks, so it's up to you."

He grins.

He considers.

"The absinthe is always good here."

Another lazy smile, speculative eyes watching Alex.

He's much prettier than the bounty hunter outlaw he'd been drinking with earlier.

"Sounds good to me, friend...sounds good to me."

He saunters up to the bar, movements still a little sloppy but not ridiculously so since he hasn't sipped on the curare-spiked bottle since he walked in. He orders the absinthe, watching it appear with a grin.

"Like this place."

He picks up the bottle and the rest and walks it back over, placing everything on the table for Alex.

"That good for ya?"

"Perfect. Thanks."

He starts preparing the drink, looking up at Nick.

"I'm Alex."

He grins.

"Sounds good to me. Always liked Alexs. Had a couple friends by that name over the years."

A couple of czars, but he hasn't seen them for a while. Time in the Americas and all...
