There's Death, somewhere by the edge of the firelight, face turned towards the moon and a certain patch of the woods.

She's late to the party, but then, she's usually the last to arrive.

Death smiles, and turns her head to kiss his cheek.

"Hey."

"Sweetheart."

She presses a bottle of what is presumably some sort of beer into his hand. It's entirely possible that she's laughing, a little.

"They call it a bikini."

She jumps a little at the cold.

"Would you watch what you're doing with that thing?"

Not that she really minds all that much. She elbows him in the belly, gently, then glances down.

And grins.

"Nice shorts."

"Smartass."

She pulls on her drink-- an old, old hard apple cider that isn't made much anymore-- and leans back against him.

There might be a happy sort of sigh in there somewhere.

"Mmm. Win what?"

She laughs.

"Who are you fighting?"

The cold bottle near her waist is starting to make her squirm a bit. But only a bit. It's more of a twitch, really.

"I see."

Yeah. She's cringing away from the cold, now. Shame that there's nowhere to go.

"...You've got a sadistic sense of humor, my dear."

"I see how it is."

A beat.

"This is payment for the snow, isn't it?"
