"Oh, right. The apocalypse thingy," he says. "I'm a little worried about that, too. But like I've always said, things will always work out in the end. Unless they don't."
"And what things might those be?" Borgel asks. "Because I know precisely what I can do to stop it, which is to say I can do slightly less than nothing about it."
"I don't know," Enzo says softly. "For now I'm just containing whatever I can of all the... stuff that's popping up, and staying on duty. If I can do anything, I need to be here first."
He shakes his head morosely. "On some of the individual things, but not why it's all happening all of a sudden."
He sips his cocoa cautiously. Judicious heat helps sprites relax (injudicious heat helps them crash and pass out), but there is a very fine line between relaxing and scalding.
"Cocoa. Digital. Extra-hot. Digital ingredients are down there. And fire away."
Distract him from the situation at hand, please.
